France set to ban the words ‘mother’ and ‘father’ from official documents

…and just when you thought the new government of France wasn’t really a bunch of commie freaks…

France is set to ban the words “mother” and “father” from all official documents under controversial plans to legalise gay marriage.

The move, which has outraged Catholics, means only the word “parents” would be used in identical marriage ceremonies for all heterosexual and same-sex couples.

The draft law states that “marriage is a union of two people, of different or the same gender”.

It says all references to “mothers and fathers” in the civil code – which enshrines French law – will be swapped for simply “parents”.

The law would also give equal adoption rights to homosexual and heterosexual couples.

Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told France’s Catholic newspaper La Croix: “Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child’s development?”

  1. Once again the social engineers of the left try to tear down traditional society, they ignore thousands of years of history that created the traditional society as being the best chance of survival for the individual and for society as a whole.

  2. Who is to say that I would not make a good astronaut?
Who is to say that I could not become an Olympic shot putter? Some of them are so bad that they didn’t even win a medal.
Who is to say that I would not make a brilliant burlesque striptease artist? Okay, so I’m male and middle-aged, but I’m sure that some burlesque artists are just terrible.

Just saying that there are bad heterosexual parents does not justify homosexual couples being parents. It’s the same sort of argument used by people who say that there are examples of bad Christians in order to justify Islamic atrocities.
    Moral relativism at its worst!

  3. France’s Justice Minister didn’t have a mother and father I guess. Her father impregnated her father. Ya, that’s it. Now I get it. . .

  4. I support equality of rights, therefore gay marriage but that does not mean the government must remove the terms”mother” & “father” form official documents it makes no sense. If they want to include gays all they have to do is use mother 1 & mother 2 or father 1 & father 2 or mother “A’ & mother “B”etc.
