Somali pirates kidnap aid workers: Swedish NGO

This is a brilliant example of whit is critical that the USA maintains global hegemony of the oceans. Piracy can and will end world trade. Collapse civilizations and move millions from affluence to poverty and disease. If you don’t believe it, research Roman roads and brigands. Might be interesting to see who those brigands were as well while you are at it.

Sweden’s International Aid Services (IAS) confirmed Friday that three of its employees kidnapped in Somalia this week were in the hands of pirates and called for their release.

The two Kenyan aid workers and a Somali doctor were kidnapped in northern Somalia’s semi-autonomous Puntland region on Wednesday.

“It has now been confirmed that a certain pirate group was involved. The hostages are reported well and have been taken to a known location under the control of pirates,” IAS said in a statement Friday.

“No demands have so far been presented by the group.”

IAS said it was in talks with several groups in Kenya and Somalia but refused to name either the kidnappers or where its employees were being held.

The agency “condemns this serious act of aggression against humanitarian staff in the strongest terms,” it said.

“We urge the attackers to immediately and unconditionally release our staff,” it said.

  1. The British and American Navies stopped piracy during the 19th and early 20th centuries, now the left has cut our military budget enough that it is once again raising. If something isn’t done the Moslems will restart their slave raids into Europe and other areas.

  2. Why is it that these pirates get away with their activities yet the people they kidnap have to endure the thought of not seeing their families again…why arent the navies/armies that are supposed to be protecting the innocent allowed to do what they need to accomplish their mission, that is wipe the pirates off the face of the earth

  3. Irish we became what the left calls civilized, something the rest of us call stupid. The US and British Navies ended piracy by hanging the pirates, now we are suppose to ship them to Europe or the US for trail and then turn them loose because the courts don’t have jurisdiction where the crime occurred. This same type of thinking has stopped us fighting to win the wars we get into and which has helped create the current mess.

  4. Human rights only relate to the crims and nothing for the victims look at the judge that released a rockspider cause it would breach his human rights if sent back to sudan after raping a 12 year old girl in the UK, where is the justice?
    Bring back capital punishment

  5. You got that right, the Judges and attorneys keep saying that the rights of the victim have already been violated so we have to concentrate on the rights of the criminal. This just violates the rights of the victim again, they should have a right to see their attacker punished, by concentrating on his rights above all else the victim is victimized by the judicial system.
