Devil its due. The rare, moderate Muslim

I believe this guy is sincere and his sect is sincere. I also don’t think it makes any difference at all to the current situation in the world, much as if we found a tiny group of philo-semitic Nazis who had formed a quite tolerable branch of that ‘faith’ based on a widely interpreted copy of Mein Kampf, found in an attic that Hitler wrote when he had stomach flu one time.

Sheik Yermami made a comment I felt was worth including in the post:

Its a choice between having your throat cut or being tortured to death.

The Sufi ‘moderate’ Al-Ghazali:

In his Wagjiz, dating to 1101 A.D., Al-Ghazali advised on vanquished non-Muslim dhimmi peoples:

…one must go on jihad (i.e., razzias or raids) at least once a year…one may use a catapult against them [non-Muslims] when they are in a fortress, even if among them are women and children. One may set fire to them and/or drown them…If a person of the Ahl al-Kitab [People of The Book – i.e. Jews and Christians] is enslaved, his marriage is [automatically] revoked….One may cut down their trees…One must destroy their useless books. Jihadists may take as booty whatever they decide…they may steal as much food as they need…

…the dhimmi [may never] mention Allah or His Apostle…Jews, Christians, and Majians must pay the jizya [non-Muslim poll tax]….[O]n offering up the jizya, the dhimmi must hang his head while the official takes hold of his beard and hits [the dhimmi] on the protuberant bone beneath his ear [lower jaw]… They are not permitted to ostentatiously display their wine or church bells…[T]heir houses may not be higher than the Muslim’s, no matter how low…. The dhimmi may not ride an elegant horse or mule; he may ride a donkey only if the saddle is … wood. He may not walk on the good part of the road. [Dhimmis must] wear [an identifying] patch, even women, and even in the [public] baths…[Dhimmis] must hold their tongue…. [2]

Al Ghazali viewed non-Muslim dhimmis as a typical Muslim theologian and jurist in the Abbasid-Baghdad Caliphate—who incited tangible dhimmi persecution, as Baghdad’s Obadyah the Proselyte, observed in about 1100 A.D.:

…al-Muqtadi [the Baghdad Caliph, 1075-1094], had given power to his vizier, Abu Shuja… [who required] each male Jew should wear a yellow badge on his headgear…and …a piece of lead…hanging round the neck …inscribed with the word dhimmi to signify [they] had to pay poll-tax. Jews also had to wear girdles round their wastes.

  1. Wow, this fellow really got a bum deal. Yes, I too think he is sincere and you have to respect him for going out on a limb trying to warn us about bin Ladin. I can certainly tolerate Sufis such as this good Sheikh, as well as Dr. Zhudi Jasser, who honorably served his/my country as a Naval Officer and has been a strong voice against CAIR and other radicals. I only wish more muslims were like them, but alas, they really seem to be at odds with mainstream islam, and that is a shame. I wish him and his Sufi sect well.

  2. hmmm. but your all forgetting they still want to impose their version on sharia and are on all be it a more peaceful jihad of bringing Islam to the west, and they are very evangelical, and often the ones people will meet and misunderstand they are the norm, they are not. But yes, I tolerate them as they tolerate me.

  3. Eeyore….to quote you..

“I believe this guy is sincere and his sect is sincere.”

The proof is in the pudding….as all our lives and our very way of life is on the line so too should theirs be…..suffering the same threats and the same assaults……

In this man’s case, while I grudgingly admit he seems sincere and his warnings have fallen through and will continue to fall through the cracks…I am unconvinced until I see muslims stand up and vigorously push, promote and support a law, across all levels of government, educational institutions, law enforcement, the military and the judiciary that, in effect, criminalizes or bans the use or application of Shariah law…..until that day…….until they admit that their political ideology of islam must be sanctioned and restrained….until that day……this man’s words remain insincere and hollow…..and as such we must continue to pursue the focus of wiping every last vestige, in every form, from the Western world…….to do anything less is suicidal .

  4. I think he sincere but it is true that these people are the pretty face of islam so to speak. He himself seems to come out of children’s picture book of Alladin! So he does seem sincere and he is acceptable to the media but then CAIR is acceptable to the media. I doubt if he can change much but it is good to hear a dissenting voice from Muzzie camp.

  5. This man doesn’t just look like something out of Aladdin, he – just like the One Thousand and One Nights – is the face of the old Middle East, before Islam became completely dominant.

His form resembles more closely the religious believes of Nestorian or Parsians, then it does modern Islam – there is dancing, chanting, music, decorations and a story traditions – just like any real religion.

But Islam does not allow anything good and great and you may get a little bit away from the empty and violent Islam practiced by most Muslims by creating a mystical or esoteric interpretation of the Qur’an, or adding another prophet, or just ignoring the bad parts.

But the truth of the matter is – Islam was founded on skulls, blood and rape and nothing will change this, only a conversion from one religion to another – I personally advise this man to become a Baha’i’ or maybe a Christian or a Jew.

The first religion has adopted many Islamic and Sufi ideas but left out some of the bad parts – as a Baha’i’ he can stop being a Muslim, but keep most of his believes.

  6. It may be he is sincere, but the very few of his kind who are given prominence in the media as a justification that Islam is not bad on the whole, prevent us from applying the necessary measures to defeat a foe whose stated objective is to destroy the foundations of our society.

Thus, his moderation prevents our rightful defence of our society, regardless whether he is genuine or not.

  7. He is sincere but he is also not influencing many Moslems, in fact most Sunni and Shia don’t consider Sufi as being Moslems.

  8. @DP11:

That is a valid point you bring up. The media can and will try to present this as the face of moderate islam (which does not exist). By presenting it as such, naturally they will create the impression that there is a great number of these Sufis, which if I was to hazzard a guess, would only amount to perhaps 0.5 % of all 1.5 billion muslims, if you could even call them muslims, that is.

Truth is, this sect isn’t real islam, it is quite syncretic and a very small group as a whole. The current trend is that which is growing the fastest, and that is islam as practiced by Muhammad and his companions. The islam that is doing all it can to bring about Dar al-Islam and impose sharia worldwide. Supremacist islam. That needs to be our prime focus, that vast majority practicing true islam, our mortal enemy. All else is mere distraction.
