I actually think this is an important story. This is epidemic in Ottawa as well, where the municipal government frequently breaks both the spirit and the letter of it’s own laws in order to raise revenues. I expect better from the US and doubly so from Texas. This woman’s real crime? Making it harder for a police officer to reach his quota of speed tickets, itself a thing which should be illegal. This is an actual attack on democracy. It has more to do with democracy in fact, than the mere act of voting for stuff.

  1. I have yet to see a speed trap that is set up for reasons of safety. They are always in the safest high speed roads and overtaking zones. It’s all about revenue…
