Moroccan Government Demands Arabic Become Standard Part of European School Curriculum

…and when they hold the whip hand….

 Islam in Europe:

The Moroccan minister for Moroccans Living Abroad, Abdellatif Mâazouz, is pressing governments in Europe to make the teaching of Arabic a standard part of the European school curriculum.

For several months he and his governement have been undertaking a veritable cultural offensive to impose the Arabic language in the educational curricula of European countries, alongside English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and/or Mandarin.

“A special effort is made on the cultural level and on the level of language teaching…” explains the minister. His activism is starting to bear fruit, as he insists the “voice [of the Moroccan government] is starting to be heard, especially in France, which will soon announce something in this vein,” even going on to enlarge his listening audience to “the EU too”.

  1. An little article from Scotlands”Daily Record”(27th.June) Edinburgh Council are replacing prayers before meetings with a “pause for reflection”. Lord Provost Donald Wilson said,”We have a duty to respect all our residents’beliefs”. This is just another sign of the “chipping away” at the society we are built on,what happened to democracy, does that mean the meeting does not include prayer for the Majority????

  2. Columnist – We want to learn from them? yes, but from a Distance,we are just letting them in to the West, and we all see what they are trying to do in the West don’t we?? lets see what they can offer the West FIRST,before they are even allowed near our Shores, lets see if they can even Speak our native Tounge first ,that would be a BIG STEP,and a MANDTORY ONE.

  3. Why would anyone want to learn a language that will only be spoken in Hell is beyond me.

  4. Chris.Curran.”Bonnie”Scotland.
What they can offer the west? You gotta be joking. The question of course is: what are they costing the west. The answer: the cost is incalculable.

  5. Multiculturalism is not about integration but about cultural plurality. It is not about separation but about respect and the deepening awareness of Unity in Diversity. Each culture will maintain its own intrinsic value and at the same time would be expected to contribute to the benefit of the whole society. Multiculturalism can accommodate diversity of all kinds – cultural, philosophical and religious – so that we can create a world without conflict and strife. Britain can assume the role of accommodation and concern for all peoples, for our planet and indeed for our survival. We live in a rapidly changing world. If you attack the burqa, you attack the right of women to choose their own clothing. Respect the right of women how to dress.I respect women’s rights. Nobel Peace Prize winner “Tawakkul Karman,” ‘The mother of Yemen’s revolution,’ when asked about her Hijab by journalists and how it is not proportionate with her level of intellect and education, replied: “Man in early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is a regression back to the ancient times. Veil is a sign of woman liberation from Current Naked liberalism, unethical fashion, social harassment, over consciousness about figure etc and become a sex icon and toy of the troy. In very cold winter people walk about with scarves tightly wrapped around their face. In those cases no security issue arises, but the wearing of burqa raises security concern. Burqa is worn as a matter of choice. Nowadays young women choose to wear full veil seeing it as a powerful statement of identity, The parliaments of various European countries are voting to legislate the banning of the veils, In Switzerland a ban on minarets was imposed. The campaign against Islamic symbols is on the rise because of a sense of insecurity in some Europeans. A ban on the burqa is bound to widen the differences rather than bridging them. It will just encourage discrimination against Muslims in European society.

The EU should make sure that its member states are multicultural to ensure the prosperity of the union, the UN’s special representative for migration has said.

Peter Sutherland also suggested the UK government’s immigration policy had no basis in international law.

He told the House of Lords committee migration was a ‘crucial dynamic for economic growth’ in some EU nations ‘however difficult it may be to explain this to the citizens of those states’. He said that an ageing or declining native population in countries like Germany or southern EU states was the ‘key argument and, I hesitate to the use word because people have attacked it, for the development of multicultural states’. He criticised the UK’s attempt to cut net migration from its current level to ‘tens of thousands’ a year through visa restrictions.

A man is a product of his culture, language and faith. State funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers would help bilingual Muslim children to develop their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identies before they are exposed to other cultures and faiths. A bilingual muslim child must learn and be well versed in standard English to follow the Natioanl Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time he/she must learn and be well versed in Arabic to recite and understand the Holy Quran. On top of that he/she must learn Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with his/her cultural heritage and enjoy the beauty of his/her literature and poetry. Without Muslim schools, Muslim children are not going to develop their Islamic identity, crucial fo their mental, social, emotional and personality development. We have already lost four generations and fifth one is in the process of losing its cultural, linguistic and spiritual Identities.

Children that can speak more than one languages do better overall in learning and it will help them excel in a job when they are older. Only an idiot would think that being bi/trilingual is a bad thing. I think its great to be surrounded by foreign languages. There are plenty of benefits to learning them, it increases memory and other brain functions, looks great on a job résumé, and most importantly allows you to connect with a different culture and make new friends. Now is the time to teach them all the different languages you want to because they will just soak up the information. As we get older it becomes harder and harder to retrain our brains to learn a new language.

Bilingual Muslims children have a right, as much as any other faith group, to be taught their culture, languages and faith alongside a mainstream curriculum. More faith schools will be opened under sweeping reforms of the education system in England. There is a dire need for the growth of state funded Muslim schools to meet the growing needs and demands of the Muslim parents and children. Now the time has come that parents and community should take over the running of their local schools. Parent-run schools will give the diversity, the choice and the competition that the wealthy have in the private sector. Parents can perform a better job than the Local Authority because parents have a genuine vested interest. The Local Authority simply cannot be trusted.

There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands.

None of the British Muslims convicted following the riots in Bradford and Oldham in 2001 or any of those linked to the London bombings had been to Islamic schools. An American Think Tank studied the educational back ground of 300 Jihadists; none of them were educated in Pakistani Madrasas. They were all Western educated by non-Muslim teachers. Bilingual Muslim children need bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. A Cambridge University study found that single-sex classes could make a big difference for boys. They perform better in single-sex classes. The research is promising because male students in the study saw noticeable gains in the grades. The study confirms the Islamic notion that academic achievement is better in single-sex classes.

  6. “if they can even Speak our native Tounge first ,that would be a BIG STEP,and a MANDTORY ONE.”

No,no, if we can understand them, and they cannot understand us, that is far better than the reverse. Now, the Muslim immigrants can read our history books and other stuff and use all dirt they can find against us. We don’t want that.

Iftikhar, you are totally right on the point of languages. All Brits should learn Urdu, and Arabic, not just the Muslims.

  7. Columnist – I’ve worked in Germany a couple o’ times,in the late 70’s & early 80’s,we found the Younger Generation wanted to speak to us in order to Brush-up on their English, which was great for us simply because we could’nt speak German, but we were told to learn to speak a little bit German,as it would seem to say,..”we live here, and we want to understand the People who can’t speak English”,mostly the Older Generation wanted to talk about the War,and Football was a good Conversation anywhere, the point i’m trying to make here is,we had to make an effort in order to be understood, this was expected of us,and likewise,we should expect anybody living(short stay) to at least learn a few words in order to get by,but these people are sneaking into our Shores, they have every intention of “Ripping the Brittish Benifit System off”,and through interpretators(at our cost)is the only time they will ever come near to understanding even the slightest bit of English, there should be a Rule along the lines of , example : Must be able to Comunicate to a certain standard. – but this is not happening, and it is the cause of a lot of problems and frustrations.

  8. If you want them to become permanent part of your society, they should indeed learn the language. But if you want to get rid of them eventually, they shouldn’t integrate at all. European society will always be somewhat “racist”. If you promise them they will be fully European, but don’t deliver on your promises, the immigrants will turn to the most radical forms of Islam, feeling betrayed.

  9. Black community is fully integrated into British society, speaking Englisah and adopted all the evils of Bitish culture and inspite of that they are still the underdogs of the British society. 90% of Pakistanis feel a strong sense of belonging in Britain compared to 84% of white people. Muslims are well-integrated in Britain – but no one seems to believe it British Muslims often express a stronger sense of belonging than other citizens, so why are they still seen as outsiders? Because that’s what the politicians keep telling us, to the delight of the racist far-right.

There is, quite frankly, no major issue of Muslims not wanting to be a part of British society. But there is an issue with the common but unspoken xenophobia pervasive in British society that casts Muslims as outsiders. That is why despite Muslims repeatedly pledging their dedication to Britain, a consistent spattering of polls show that many non-Muslim Britons still view Muslims as a potential enemy within.

  10. Not everyone is interested in other people languages or other languages that is not spoken at the time they were born. No one should be forced to be bilingual or to learn another language when there is no neccessity to do so. To be multilingual or not is a very perosnal thing and it should not be forced into a school curricullum or forced onto a child. Every child should be given the opportunity to decide whether to learn another language or not. Every race have their own inborn traits. Western culture is still superior and better in many ways. Speaking English language or knowing english language have nothing to do with any race. Languages should not be made into a race issue. It is not racist, if people do not wish to be dominated by other foreign language or islamic culture or black culture or other more inferior problematic culture. Each to its own. And everyone should have the freedom to decide. Those migrants who come to the West should not not expect the West to pander to them all the time. The immigrants should not be selfish or narrowminded and should not force the West to accept them, irregardless whether they integrate fully or not.
It is silly to expect everyone to accommodate all types of incompatible diversity. Barriers need to be put up to protect our own individuality or our own western culture.

“Black community is fully integrated into British society, speaking Englisah and adopted all the evils of Bitish culture and inspite of that they are still the underdogs of the British society.”

That is a very good observation. But I think Pakistanis are more hated than Black people.

It is very wrong to see Muslim Britons as outsiders. Whether Islam is good or bad should not be judged on its “Britishness”. After all, Communism, National-Socialism, Fascism and Capitalism are all very much part of indigenous European culture, yet they are also very wrong. Islam is a part of European history, just as Judaism and Christianity. Yet, there are very disturbing aspects about many groups in Islam. In order to distinguish between good and bad Muslims, a thorough knowledge of Urdu is necessary. Just like Communism had to be crushed in Russia, too, Islam in the Middle-East needs some re-engineering, too.

Hypocrite. Dutch people are forced to learn English, German, and French, because the Netherlands are a small country dominated by its powerful neighbours. If the Anglo-Saxon world can impose its language on the Netherlands, why shouldn’t Dutch people learn languages that are actually useful, like Arabic and Chinese? What about Esperanto?

  12. Columnist, who are you referring to as hypocrite?

Anyway, no state should forced their citizens to study any foreign language. it is up to individual initiative to study any foreign language. If any government want to impose any language on their citizens, they should give assurances of our right to freedom. It is up to people to decide which language is useful and which is not useful. For me, I have no problem if people wish to impose their language on me as long as they don’t impose their foreign religion on me or misused any language for any totalitarian agenda. I don’t like it if islamic people tried to use certain language to force their islamic religion onto unsuspecting people. If people want to impose any language due to economic neccessity or educational purposes, it is okay, but one have to be cautious, if anyone tried to be racist via their language or tried to impose their religion on the unsuspecting nonbelievers masses via any national langauge. People should be free to study any language while having the freedom to improve their individual self and their standard of living/quality of life.

  13. Some people who out of no choice have to learn another language just to earn a living and I feel it is not nice to be forced to learn a language just to earn a living. Languages that one is at ease with and one that can improve our quality of life should be the motivation and foreign languages should not be forced by any supremacist groups or totalitarian agenda.

  14. WLIL, you are obviously oblivious of the situation in mainland Europe. I agree however, that religion should not be imposed, but I fail to see why learning e.g. Arabic means Islamization. If anything, the knowledge of Arabic, gives Christian Arabs a chance to fight back against Islam.

  15. For example, if certain group of islamic people identify their race with only islamic religion and their certain national asian language, then it is caused for concern.
There is nothing wrong if they wish to incorporate the language into their race but is dangerous for our nonbelievers citizen freedom if they add a religion to it.

  16. Iftikhar Ahmad – In Brittain we have tried this Multiculturalism nonsence,it just does’nt work, not just here, but also throught Europe, the “cult” of Islam are now threatening to take over Bulgaria – France – Spain – Holland – and even Germany, now who would have thought that of Germany?? they are in the Streets and on the Pavements praying to their “God” disrupting everyday life in all these Countries, the muslem Gangs, have been of recent times been convicted of running Prostitution Rackets using the Youngest and the most Vunerable of CHILDREN here in the U.K.,but the Police and the other Authorities(Social Workers & Courts) don’t pursue them with as much vigor as they should do,”Why”,?? you don’t know, well WE don’t know either,!!! nobody can offend the muslems here, but they can offend us,now you know how fed up we are of the muslems,we don’t want sharia law areas in any part of this Country,we don’t want “No-Go” Areas in this Country, they have a DUTY to take on board the Culture – Customs and Habits of the Country the Country they intend to Adopt, they have done the exact opposite, and tried to impose THEIR culture – customs and habits on the peacefull People of this Country,Multiculturalism just DOES NOT WORK,and it’s something that is becoming more and more apparent,on a Day to Day basis.

  17. Muslim countries should get multiculturalism rammed down their throats. Synagogues and churches in Saudi-Arabia and Iran, but no mosques in Europe!

  18. I’ve a funny feeling they would’nt be short of Volunteers,if they needed help to do this in the U.K.
