Volunteer chaplains in North Carolina’s Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have been told not to use Jesus’ name in prayers at public events held on government property.

Pastor Terry Sartain of Horizon Christian Fellowship told FOX News Radio he was informed of the change by his superior major just before he was about to give a invocation at a promotion ceremony.

‘I was told chaplains can no longer invoke the name of Jesus on government property,’ Mr Sartain said.

‘[He said] if I could refrain from that during the invocation he would appreciate that.’

Mr Sartain said he was upset by the new rules.

‘I’m very sad about it,’ he continued.

‘I’m a pastor and Jesus is the only thing I have to offer to bless people — his life and his person.’

He said that he had used the name of Jesus in the past at police events and not had run into any barriers then.

  1. Matthew 5:11- “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me”.

1 Peter 4:14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

  2. What will they do if they defy the fake law?

This is a very clear case of natural rights vs fake laws

  3. So what if other religions are offended? This is part and parcel of “freedom of religion” and living in a majority Christian country. If they are so offended they are free to move to a country that practices their religion. It’s time for people to man up and forget this cultural marxism that is undermining our freedoms. Just say NO!

I recommend that all those in attendance make a point of saying Jesus name for the chaplains.

  4. Does that mean that Muslim preachers are not allowed to use the words ‘Prophet Mohammed’ or ‘Allah’ in case it offends non-Muslims?

  5. OxAO anything from being fired to being arrested, probably the former.

Pigs the left is trying to destroy all freedom for everyone but themselves.

Bob we aren’t a protected minority like the Moslems.

  6. The US rebelled against the crown because the king wouldn’t allow us to be anything other then his choice of religion. The king scourged the ministers in public which this pissed off a lot of people to the point of rebellion

I wonder if it is that public viewing of the punishment is what we need?

We need something for people to wake the heck up.

  7. OxAO that was part of the cause of the revolution, right up there with it were lack of representation in Parliament, the suppression of the traditional rights of the English. (Rights that are now disappearing from Britain) unfair trade practices and in general treating the colonists like serfs.
