Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his ministers to accelerate efforts to deport citizens of South Sudan, the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Ethiopia who are living in Israel illegally on Sunday.

Speaking at Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that while it is not possible to expel citizens of Eritrea and Sudan, whose lives would be at risk in their home countries, holding facilities for them must be built in the Negev as quickly as possible.

A senior Israeli official said that two different groups of migrants were presented during Sunday’s cabinet debate. The first was migrants from countries with which Israel has diplomatic relations, and with regard to whom there is no barrier to repatriating them under international law, he said. This group numbers some 25,000 of the approximately 60,000 African migrants now in Israel.

The second group comprises migrants from Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia, who cannot be repatriated because their lives would be at risk, according to the official. This group comprises some 35,000 people.

Sudan is classified as an enemy country, another reason that migrants can’t be returned there, he said, while Eritrea, though it has diplomatic relations with Israel, considers those who fled the country to be AWOL soldiers, and upon their return home they could be severely punished. Eritrea has a mandatory conscription law for all men aged 17-45, and demands reserve duty up to age 55. There are no exemptions.

With regard to the first group of migrants, Netanyahu said, “Whoever can be sent away should be sent away from here as quickly as possible.”

With regard to the second group, he said, “It’s clear that we cannot return Sudanis and Eritreans to their countries.”

During the cabinet debate, Netanyahu appeared impatient and dissatisfied with the conduct of the relevant ministries and banged on the table several times, according to sources who were present. He ordered a substantial expansion of the Saharonim lockup in the Negev so that it could hold the tens of thousands of people who can’t be repatriated.

He also ordered a team of interrogators put together to interview all those who will be brought to the Saharonim facility to determine whether they are indeed entitled to refugee status.

The Foreign Ministry has been conducting intensive discussions for several months with the governments of those countries whose citizens can be repatriated, a senior ministry source said.

  1. This is a good thing. Israel should stay strong in order to put a boot in Allah’s neck. The Nakba was a spiritual warning to the Muslim, that his Allah was weak and that he should convert. The Muslim didn’t listen, so he forced God’s hand, and God struck Syria with civil war. The more a Muslim resists, the more he will be chastised. He will be sodomized in the afterlife. What disasters will be necessary to break the will of the Muslim? Only God knows, and he will react accordingly.

  2. “Netanyahu said that while it is not possible to expel citizens of Eritrea and Sudan, whose lives would be at risk in their home countries, holding facilities for them must be built in the Negev as quickly as possible.”. . .”. . .This group comprises some 35,000 people.”

And just how long will Netanyahu ‘hold’ these individuals? What if they aren’t “entitled to refugee status”?

Give each detainee 30-60 days to come up with an alternative muslim friendly destination and deport them there. If the detainee doesn’t come up with an alternative, deport them to their home of origin – or the nearest middle eastern UN sanctuary. Let the Arabs/Persians give them refugee status.

  3. Who cares if they are in danger if returned to their countries, it’s where they came from and where they belong? Barring that they should be made to choose another similar country to emigrate to.

If Israel backs down on this one she is done. And if we don’t put a stop to muslim immigration, so are we. This is how they colonize. It’s an invasion NOT a refugee crisis. NEVER forget that.

  4. I wish more governments would start doing this, we would have an easier time preserving civilization.

  5. Israel is not under the spell of guilt. The Holocaust, the favorite spiritual weapon of the multiculturalists, cannot be wielded against the Israeli. The Holocaust works in the favor of the Nationalist Israeli. The Israeli Left attacks the spiritual heritage of the Holocaust. Avraham Burg wrote a book:”The Holocaust is Over”. Schlomo Sand wrote:”The invention of the Jewish People”.

  6. @ Richard,
Nety’s rhetoric impresses me. If he gives the IDF a free hand he may achieve his goals.
I agree with you, wish Aussie politicians would start doing this too.

  7. He does give a good speech, and he tries to follow through with what he has said, this is what impresses me, he tries to keep his political promises. The IDF is good, one of the best in the world, but I don’t like the idea of using the military for internal police actions, historically this is a risky move since it usually ends with a military dictatorship.

  8. Richard:

Actually I would go as far as to say, having a non-partizan military has more to do with being a democracy than voting for stuff. Not having the military act in civilian affairs would be close in importance.

  9. That is why the US Constitution says that the military is to be controlled by the civilian government and why the oath all soldiers take is to defend the Constitution. This is also why I agree with the discharge of the Marine who was campaigning for Obama to be defeated, it is a very small step from telling people who you support to telling them who they have to vote for. The US has lasted over 200 years without any attempted military coup, not many nations can, and off the top of my head Switzerland is the only non Anglo one that can make this claim.

You will also find that the nations that haven’t had military coups (successful on not) are all nations that don’t have a tradition of allowing the citizens to be armed.
