SUN News video on an Islamic school teaching Muslim values.

I gotta be honest about this one. Really now. This is an Islamic school, teaching Islamic values. Everyone but everyone knows that is what Islamic schools do. When one gets busted in this manner it begs some more probing questions.

Here are some of mine:

How long did authorities know this was the curriculum at this establishment?

Who found out about it and made it public and who was pressured to let it go public?

How many other schools in Toronto or Canada teach this material? (this one we know the answer to. All of them.) And are there any plans to publicize them as well?

How much Canadian Government money goes to these schools? How much Saudi?

Is this just a minor embarrassment for Canadian authorities? or are there any actual plans to try and at least make it generally known that this is not an exception, but the main-stream, non-extremist, ORTHODOXY of Islam

  1. Truth is always bitter. You must learn to listen to those who are culturally, linguistically and spiritually differnt. Education is should be more than providing pupils with the skills they need to get a job or enter university: we should not forget that we have a duty to pass on a body of knowledge through generations

British schools are not doing enough to tackle racism and promote race relations. Many teachers are unaware of racist attitudes amongst pupils. Schools have a responsibility not only to deal with racist incidents but also to prepare pupils for life in a multicultural and multiracial society.

Children from minority groups, especially the Muslims, are exposed to the pressure of racism, multiculturalism and bullying. They suffer academically, culturally and linguistically: a high proportion of children of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin are leaving British schools with low grades or no qualification.

In the 80s, the Muslim community in Britain started to set up Muslim schools. The first was the London School of Islamics which I established and which operating from 1981-86. Now there are 170 and only 12 are state funded.

The needs and demands of Muslim children can be met only through Muslim schools, but education is an expensive business and the Muslim community does not have the resources to set up schools for each and every child, and only eight Muslim schools have achieved grant maintained status.

This leaves a majority of children from Muslim families with no choice but to attend state schools. There are hundreds of state schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models.

Prince Charles, while visiting the first grant maintained Muslim school in north London, said that the pupils would be the future ambassadors of Islam. But what about thousands of others, who attend state schools deemed to be “sink schools”?

The time has come for the Muslim community – in the form of Islamic charities and trusts – to manage and run those state schools where Muslim pupils are in the majority. The Department for Education would be responsible for funding, inspection and maintenance.

The management would be in the hands of educated professional Muslims. The teaching of Arabic, Islamic studies, Urdu and other community languages by qualified Muslim teachers would help the pupils to develop an Islamic identity, which is crucial for mental, emotional and personality development.

In the east London borough of Newham, there are at least 10 state schools where Muslim pupils are in the majority.

The television newscaster Sir Trevor McDonald is a champion of introducing foreign modern languages even at primary level in schools in Britain. The Muslim community would like to see Arabic, Urdu and other community languages introduced at nursery, primary and secondary schools along with European languages so that Muslim pupils have these options.

In education, there should be a choice and at present it is denied to the Muslim community. In the late 80s and early 90s, when I floated the idea of Muslim community schools, I was declared a “school hijacker” by an editorial in the Newham Recorder newspaper in east London.

  2. The commenter obviously doesn’t know his Islam.

    Iftikhar,
You are a victim of Islam and it’s doctrine. No one can fault your dark insanity, it is enforced by violence. Your disgusting “culture” has been a thorn in humanities side for far too long. I welcome your peoples latest advance to a state of totally negative attention from the “unbelievers” and the consequent coming retribution for your atrocities. Afterwards there will be salvation of those who survive and foreswear the black straight jacket of Islam.

Save yourself, my lost Muslim friend. Denounce your black prison of poison and leave Islam and begin to live as a human being instead of a slave to hate. If not, you will surely have no mercy.

  3. No the commentator doesn’t know much if anything about Islam, what was being taught was mainstream Islam. What is even more interesting is the way people like Iftikhar think they can make a few statements that are blatantly false and have us believe them, arrogance like that has to be the product of a lower IQ.

  4. The jewish community in the West was always supportive of liberal causes. Always supportive of liberal politicians.

    How have these politicians responded?

By pushing and supporting and rallying to allow muslim immigration into the West.

    And they still vote lib

  5. Where does one begin to address David Spiro, Co-chair of The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs – who intentionally or not – speaks on behalf of the entire Jewish community, a community which intentionally blind-folds-itself-with-self-inflicted-ignorance of immutable Islamic doctrine?

    Quoting the video beginning @ 0:26 :

“Well, the Jewish community, once we became aware of this material . . .”

Now, what is preventing the entire Jewish community from becoming aware of this material? It is available to review in the immutable Islamic doctrine. Open a qur’an and read the damn thing. Examine the hadiths. Review the sira.

“. . .was shocked that it would diseminated and possibly used as teaching material, you know, within a curriculum to youngsters. . .”

Oh, give me a break! A religious class is going to use religious doctrine in their curriculum. Again, what, pray tell, prevents you from examining immutable Islamic doctrine?

“. . . anywhere in Canada but particularly here in Toronto, in our own city. . . .”

Begs the question, ‘What does the location, “particularly here in Toronto and Canada” offer to prevent such dissemination of hate literature?’ Do tell.

“Yes, they did take the material down, which is a very good first step but more needs to be done. For example, it suggests that this material was used to teach youngsters. “. . .

“It suggests?” Give the man a prize! Gah! Of course it was used to teach youngsters as it represents immutable Islamic doctrine.

“. . .Is it still being used to teach youngsters? Was it picked up by other schools? Is it used elsewhere? “. . .

Ugh. Will someone hand this man a clue please! Removal of the offensive material from a website is meaningless. Mr. Spiro, if the material is sourced from either the immutable qur’anic text, the sira (life of Mohammed), and/or the hadith (the Traditions of Mohammed), what makes you think this dangerously offensive material isn’t going to be taught – uniformly – throughout the Islamic religious establishment? Again, do tell!

“. . .We need to know the answers to these questions and we want to ensure accountability by those who adopted this curriculum,. . .”

Kindly elaborate on that theme, “accountability”, particularly the “ensure” feature. Curious minds would like to know. Legal precedent is established to have child protective services infringe upon parental rights in cases involving ‘racism’. Why isn’t this legal rationale applied uniformly?

“. . . and for them to tell us – ‘look, we’re going to teach tolerance. We’re going to teach respect. “. . .

Oh, but you see Mr. Spiro, they DO teach ‘respect’ . . .for Islam, as guided by Islam and ONLY Islam. How many spiritual one-way-bridge-building/interfaith dialogue sessions (aka dawa) by local Muslims have you attended? Pay attention, the only respect discussed and encouraged is the respect of Islam.

. . .” We undertake to do that, and we will do that.” . . .

Define “that”. If it’s more of the one-way-bridge-building nonsense, then, no thanks. But if you are anticipating these lessons to teach assimilation, tolerance and respect for non-Muslims . . .I have a suggestion. . . Don’t hold your breath on that.

. . .” That would be reflecting Canadian values and also reflecting the values of the TPSD whose premises were used for the disemination of this hatred. “

Insist all you want. Canadian values contradict Islamic values. The TPSD should accept the FACT that Islamic doctrine is immutableto it’s followers, and by that I mean, Islamic doctrine trumps Canadian doctrine for practitioners of Islam. The TPSD should carefully examine the details of Islamic doctrine in it’s entirety to avoid any future unfortunate alliances/leases which conflict with Canadian values. Take off the blinders. Not only is self-inflicted ignorance unattractive – it’s bloody suicidal.
