Fewer than one in three of the illegal immigrants caught last year have been deported, according to figures disclosed yesterday.

They showed that of 21,298 individuals discovered in Britain unlawfully, only 6,232 were returned to their countries in the same year.

The figures threatened to deepen the troubles at the UK Border Agency, the organisation responsible for policing immigration law.

The agency has already been heavily criticised this month after it was shown that more than one in five foreign criminals supposed to have been deported from the country after release from prison in 2010 were still here.

It was found that 60 per cent of another group of 1,000 foreign criminals mistakenly freed from jail six years ago have not been removed from Britain.

Border officials have also been found to have abandoned checks on arrivals into the country without seeking the clearance of ministers.

The unapproved relaxation of passport controls meant 500,000 passengers who came on Eurostar trains entered the country without being checked against lists of suspected terrorists and criminals.

The failure to deport illegal immigrants detected last year was revealed in figures obtained under Freedom of Information rules.

The biggest group of illegal migrants who have successfully evaded deportation during the year in which they were found to be here are from Pakistan.

Other countries featured in the figures include Iran, India, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

  1. In the US we do a token effort intentionally

I can understand an open society but not checking criminal records is just unreal.

When a cop on the road pulls over an illegal alien they can not treat them like the rest of us.

Citizens are expected to show your ID then the cop checks the wanted list every-time we are pulled over. Illegal aliens they can not check and now in Los Angeles the Illegal Alien can now call a friend that has a drivers license to come and pick up the car. The Illegal alien is given a ticket but without knowing who it is the ticket is meaningless.

In my opinion that amounts to a safe heaven for murders and other hard criminals of the world

Sad to say that the british are partly responsible for this. British leaders are a duplicitous bunch as is the anglo world in general, when it comes to Jews (and Christians).

Here is another link to a story where a british girl was raped by a group of community organizers; i.e., muslims in the UK:

Sorry girls, you have to take it if you want to be in the team.

  3. You got that right, this situation was set up deliberately to hurt the US and make it hard if not impossible for us to enforce the immigration laws. I doubt that the people who started this mess thought that terrorists would take advantage of their actions to come into the US, but that is happening and the left still refuses to enforce our laws.
