London university considers stopping sale of ‘immoral’ alcohol on campus because it offends their Muslim students

…and the extinction of our own culture continues apace. So much for ‘diversity’.

A university is considering ending the sale of alcohol on campus due to concerns from Muslim students.

London Metropolitan University could take action because a ‘high percentage’ of its students thought drinking was ‘immoral’, according to its vice chancellor.

Professor Malcolm Gillies raised the prospect of an alcohol-free campus after gauging the changing values from the influx of new students.

He said it would be unwise to ‘cling’ to a ‘nostalgic’ view where the vast majority wanted alcohol to be available and instead take account of diverging views.

He told MailOnline: ‘I was raising the issue of changing values in student populations and the question of how a responsible university responds.

‘London Metropolitan University is a highly diverse university ethnically and in religious terms. ‘

‘Our students come from all over the world and they come with changing balance of values.

‘So the issue of how we cater for those values while still remaining true to being a British university is one of the constant issues any responsible university would be considering.

‘We do have a high percentage of Muslim students – we estimate it may be around 20 per cent for our university.

‘And therefore as most Muslims do look on drink as something which isn’t an acceptable part of everyday life, seeing how do we provide an environment that can respect that, while also respecting values of people such as me who do drink, and who believe drink in moderation is acceptable part – in fact sometimes a good part – of a social community.’

  1. So 20% takes presidence over 80%? How does a minority dictating to a majority fit in with the principle of democracy?
What next, no pork in the student canteen?
This is ridiculous and should be stopped immediately. If they do go ahead with it, it is up to all non-Muslim prospective students to boycott this university. Professor Malcolm Gillies is using ‘double talk’ to justify his view. Consider what he has said:

“unwise to ‘cling’ to a ‘nostalgic’ view where the vast majority wanted alcohol to be available and instead take account of diverging views.”

He’s playing the nostalgia card to make it seem that anyone who believes in traditional values is stuck in the past. Also, he mentions the word ‘diversity’ as if the views of one minority sector somehow represent diversity. What a clown, what a coward!

“The majority of our students in London primary schools now have a home language other than English – in other words they come from a very diverse ethnic base.”

This has nothing to do with foreign students and nothing to do with the English language. These statements are racist. Are all non-English speaking foreign students the same? Do French students or Japanese students want to ban alcohol? Fork-tongued words from a slimy snake!
This is a typical example of Leftist propaganda – using words to mean the opposite of what they are actually mean. I’m sick to death of words like ‘diversity’ ‘racism’ and ‘ethnic’ being twisted in their meaning to manipulate people into buying into the Leftist ideology. This sort of propaganda of words is the same sort that was as used in the Soviet Union and Hitler’s Germany!
This traitor should be fired immediately but sadly somehow, I believe that this isn’t going to happen!

  2. A society gone mad with the guilt trip. Enough will be enough only when the western world realizes that Muslims must not dictate our way of life.

  3. I think this is a great idea. I know the college well, it is situated at Aldgate East and Moorgate, right in Tower Hamlets close to the East london mosque horror. This will really piss off all the non-mozlem students who, up till now, support their muzzie “buddies” and join all their racist anti-Israel organisations. So I say, yes, give these creeps a taste of what sharia law is like. Stop serving alcohol in both bars.
And while they are about it, they could make the girls of the art school wear burkas, as surely their tight jeans and flowing hair is an insult to izlame…

  4. Next time it will be about changing attitudes towards scourging of disobedient children and women. I am almost tempted to place a wager…

  5. “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” —
    Benjamin Franklin

The alcohol disjunction demonstrates yet again that Muslims can never assimilate to Western values.

  6. First of all, who cares if muslims are offended? Maybe if they get offended enough they’ll go back to the sh*tholes they came from but probably no such luck.

I agree with “Cassandavictoria”, maybe this will force the spoiled masses to take a second look at what muslims are doing to their country and their freedoms. Something has to get their attention before it’s too late and interfering with their liquor consumption might just be the ticket.

  7. The philosophy of “live and let live” that I grew up with worked so well. The Muslims should just mind their own business; they don’t have to drink if they don’t want to.
