NORWAY: BREIVIK DECLARED SANE, PSYCHIATRIC REPORT SAYS HE CAN STAND TRIAL

Now watch the circus begin.

Breivik, the Norwegian terrorist, was acting out a sick minded, murderous role to satisfy his demented sense of extreme narcissism, a grossly exaggerated belief of self importance. His murderous deed had nothing to do with the issues he appears to be grappling with, but about projecting himself into the public eye, using any means to get there. It was all about him.

Norway killer Breivik is sane: psychiatric report

Published: 10 Apr 2012 12:09 GMT+1

Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people in Norway last July, was not psychotic at the time of the twin attacks and can thus be held criminally responsible, a new psychiatric probe concluded on Tuesday.

“The experts’ main conclusion is that the accused, Anders Behring Breivik, is not considered to have been psychotic at the time of the actions on July 22nd, 2011,” the Oslo district court said in a statement which reopens the debate on whether the self-confessed killer can be sent to prison.

“That means that he is considered criminally responsible at the time of the crime.”

The new evaluation counters the findings of an initial probe that found Breivik was suffering from “paranoid schizophrenia,” which meant he would most likely be sentenced to psychiatric care instead of prison.

On July 22nd, Breivik first set off a car bomb outside government buildings in Oslo, killing eight people, before travelling to the small island of Utøya north-west of the capital where he spent more than an hour methodically shooting and killing another 69 people, mostly teenagers.

The victims had been attending a summer camp hosted by the ruling Labour Party’s youth organisation.

  1. Be interesting to see which way the judge goes with the final say. Something tells me Brevick will win either way because of the PC rules Norway set up.

  2. This is more about taking down the critics of the current Norwegian regime, than about bringing justice to the surviving relatives of the murdered family victims.

  3. What Anders Breivik did is just about the most insane thing I’ve ever heard of. And then the way he simply stood there like it was nothing as the police arrested him? Classic. Lots of people are cheesed-off at the Labor Party, but they don’t go and shoot their children, for God’s sake. Lots of people are cheesed-off about lots of things, for that matter…
I wonder if this “sane” verdict is political in any way?

  4. It shouldn’t matter if he was psychotic or not. Psychotic is NOT paranoid schizophrenia. If he wasn’t stark raving mad he would not have developed his obsessions in the first place.

For gods sake, he thinks he’s the rightfull heir to the throne of Norway. If they say he is sane, then why don’t they just crown him king then.

I bet the prosecution won’t want him to take the stand.

This only serves to give fuel to sane people who’ve been saying he was right to do what he did.

It vindicates his decisions and actions. Not in terms of weather they were legal or not, but weather they were a sane responce to what is a sane assessment of what is happening in the world. It absolutely is saying that he was right to do what he did. Not legally right but right all the same.

It turns him into both a hero and a martyr, willing to sacrafice his freedom for his country. Now THAT is insane.

How can that not but create more Brieviks?

But these will be worse because they will be sane men with the mental capacity to work with others and to evade capture.

It is a disasterous mistake that will have violent results all over western Europe.

  5. Jeez, even the photo of him at the top of the article makes it obvious that he’s short of a full deck – by about 52 cards. How can you look at that face and not see that he’s completely insane?

  6. He tried to stop the population replacers and came to the wrong targets. The excess killing was not necessary he only had to kill 1-3 population replacers such as the original designers of Norways multiculturalism or one or 2 high profile muslim socialist targets and say he will kill more to end multiculturalism and immigration. He probably would have been caught after the first few operations but just as muslims dictate on coercion and intimidation so he could have founded a movement or idea that does the same with population replacement policies. He would have had more support for killing a mullah krekar and not dismissed as another lunatic commiting a senseless massacre. He is sane, however targetting young naive people who in 10 years after their neighbour is raped or bashed will come to their senses was evil.

  7. I don’t know about Norway but in the US sane is a legal definition, not a medical one. If the person knows the difference between right and wrong and knows what he/she did was wrong then they meet the legal definition of sanity. He is probably a sociopath, but sociopaths meet the legal definition of sane.

  8. Richard. Sociopaths don’t have the emotional capacity to form the kinds of obsessions or develop and follow thru plans like Brievik did. Because of their extremely stunted emotions they are not capable of caring about anything.

The violence that sociopaths engage in is only ever of the moment and not the product of planning. Brievik does not have a record of impetuous violent behavior.

  9. I will agree with that, I was using the example that the sociopaths know right from wrong, they just don’t care, the same way Brievik feels. Unlike them he is acting in what he thinks is the best for society, sociopaths are either acting violent because of lack of emotional control or because they want something they think they can get through violence.
