Despite the Protestant Evangelical Church in Germany claiming that ethnic Turks residing in the southwestern German city of Mannheim have “become more or less integrated,” there is a move afoot to have the heavily Turkish-Muslim section of the city officially change its name to ‘Wenig Istanbul’ (Little Istanbul).
The Evangelical Church, along with many other pro-immigration organizations within the German Republic, also claim that “very few Turkish families today still think of going back to their homeland.”

As reported by the Turkish-language German newspaper (German language edition) Sabah.de, Turkish-Muslims have held their first meeting with Mannheim city officials to have a section of the north-side of the city designated with an official Turkish-language name.

Little Istanbul? Little mahoundian-occupied-Constantinople is more like it…
