Muslim-Turks seek to officially rename section of German city “Little Istanbul”

Despite the Protestant Evangelical Church in Germany claiming that ethnic Turks residing in the southwestern German city of Mannheim have “become more or less integrated,” there is a move afoot to have the heavily Turkish-Muslim section of the city officially change its name to ‘Wenig Istanbul’ (Little Istanbul).

The Evangelical Church, along with many other pro-immigration organizations within the German Republic, also claim that “very few Turkish families today still think of going back to their homeland.”

Bringing The Homeland To You…

As reported by the Turkish-language German newspaper (German language edition) Sabah.de, Turkish-Muslims have held their first meeting with Mannheim city officials to have a section of the north-side of the city designated with an official Turkish-language name.
