Iran: Obama’s Letter Indicates the United States is Afraid of the Islamic Republic

Two interesting posts on Iran:

From PJ media in part:

Iranian officials today disclosed details of a letter that was secretly passed to the leadership in Iran by the Obama administration.

According to the Iranian state-owned media, Mehr News, MP Ali Motahhari disclosed today that President Obama stated in his letter that closing of the Strait of Hormuz is a red line, but at the same time, indicated that Obama is ready to negotiate to find a resolution to their mutual disagreements.

However, MP Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ebrahimi disclosed much more details in the letter. He stated that Obama clearly indicated that U.S. will not take any hostile action against Iran and is interested in cooperation.

Ebrahimi continued that the letter covered several subjects. Among them: a section about using the international waterways in the Persian Gulf; how it is the right of every country to use the waterway; and that the closure of the waterway was America’s red line.

In other parts of the letter, Ebbrahimi continued, Obama mentioned that cooperation and negotiation is based on the mutual interests of the two countries, and assured Iran that America will not take any action against the Islamic regime.

The Revolutionary Guards are plotting to kill President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his followers, sources within Ahmadinejad’s camp charged Tuesday.

Meanwhile, an assassination force has been formed to also eliminate those Iranians who oppose the supreme leader in the event of war breaking out between the United States and Iran over sanctions imposed to thwart Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

Raha Press, the Iranian online media outlet close to Ahmadinejad, reported that a Guards plot code-named Hadian Basir, under the guidance of Hossein Taeb, the commander of the Guards Intelligence section, is under way to eliminate Ahmadinejad and his camp.

Taeb, who has had a long history of animosity against Ahmadinejad, is among those conservatives loyal to Iran’s supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He also is among those calling Ahmadinejad and his camp the “The Seditionists.”

Khamenei loyalists called Ahmadinejad and his followers “The Seditionists” after a rift between the two came to light several months ago when Ahmadinejad dismissed Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi. Khamenei subsequently reinstated Moslehi. The intelligence minister had presented an extensive report on Ahmadinejad’s political and economic activities to the supreme leader, indicating also that Ahmadinejad was struggling for control of that ministry.

That was how Saddam was suckered into invading Kuwait – that the US will not take any action of he did so.
