Israel evacuates embassy in Jordan ahead of protests

From The Jerusalem Post

Israel tells diplomats in Amman to come home as Facebook page calls for protest under the banner:”No Zionist embassy on Jordanian territory”; decision comes days after protesters storm mission in Cairo.

Israel evacuated its embassy in Jordan Wednesday evening, hours before a Facebook organized march under the banner (in Arabic) of “No Zionist embassy on Jordanian territory.

Unlike in Egypt, where diplomats lived with their families, in Amman the Israeli delegation serves without their families, and comes home for weekends.

  1. Holy qur’ap, the sharia is hitting the fan faster than I thought it would, though Baron Bodissey at Gates of Vienna has written that analysts actually predicted an escalation between Israel and her mahoundian neighbors for this time of the year.

Now, when war breaks out, we’ll see how the mahoundians insh’allah-based war-strategies will stack up against the rational, reality-based approach of the IDF. Despite all the sophisticated infidel-made weapons acquired by the black-cube worshipping nazis over the last few decades, their likely inept use of them will likely turn out to be a big advantage for Israel. In a worst case scenario, however, there is still the Samson Option, but I really hope the Israelis will never get anywhere near having to resort to that.

  2. confrontation should be delayed so that the hoped for western embargo on spares would have time to take effect.
Egypt, at least, has perhaps 1000+ Abrams tanks, vastly superior to the mirkava.
they also have limited production capacity.

  3. I don’t know what kind of tanks Syria used against Israel in the Yom-Kippur war, which the Jewish state also won, but I know that the Syrian tanks vastly outnumbered the Israeli ones and didn’t manage to beat the latter.

    t34/85, t54/55 and t62.

reckoned to be equal to Israels m50, m60 and centurion tanks.
    Israel also used about 200 t55s up-gunned with British 105mm guns .

however, now the Egyptians have a vehicle that is superior to the mirkava and a good number of them too.
if Syria gets in to a tussle with Israel, there will be great pressure on the Egyptian leader ship to join in.

  5. This war will be a real big one, and don’t forget the resupply problem, in every war except their first one the US has always been resupplied by the US during the fighting, with this President this may not occur. It will take time for the Congress to over ride Obama, can Israel win the war before they run out of ammo, if they can’t can they hold on until Congress can get ammo to them? Those are the big questions.
