A huge police presence for an event not worthy of reportage on any major TV in the UK

As one of Vlad’s best tipsters in the UK points out, there was a massive massive police presence and no shortage of selective enforcement of the law, and even, from what I have been hearing, new laws being invented just to selectively enforce against the EDL, there seems to be a hell of a lot of cops for an event that is not on SKY news or the BBC today.

Interesting. Clearly the British government is using totalitarian measures (where totalitarianism means controlling the press, controlling what ideas are acceptable and which not and taking over aspects of life best not under the control of Government in a free society) and expanding those measures as well as increasing the frequency of their use.

Interesting how quickly a government which is a the mother of all parliaments can get comfortable with the very measures they fought against during the cold war for decades. The price of freedom truly is eternal vigilance and, I’m sorry to say, that the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of patriots from time to time. How do I know this? Because I am willing to bet those last two statements are probably illegal or at least will have me put on a list for republishing here.

  1. I’m curious, in the video which illustrates the impressive numbers of law-abiding EDL kept to the far side of the camera by the massive numbers of police, there are a few people visible passing behind the police line. Some appear to be photographers. The others, particularly those riding bikes have peaked my curiosity. Earlier this afternoon, I read reports of Antifa members using bicycles to run into and intentionally harm EDL members. How is it these bicyclists glide past the visible police barriers with nary a glance from a single officer?

  2. I don’t pretend to know much on this topic, but just wondering perhaps we shouldn’ t just role our eyes at the way England treats the EDL. Perhaps there really is a threat to someone in power (of the police force)? I mean can the police force be run by a leftist or a Muslim? Does the EDL’s plan go against some end goal?

  3. wtd that is what the selective enforcement of the laws means, looking the other way as one side breaks the law.

miriam the EDL are standing up for their culture and history, the British government are opposing that because it goes against the politically correct meme of multiculturalism. As the old saying goes I did nothing when they came for the Jews because I wasn’t a Jew, I did nothing when they came for the trade unionists because I wasn’t a union member, by the time they came for me there was no one left to speak up for me. Yes the EDL is a threat to all of the control freaks who don’t like individual freedom, free speech and one law for everyone. That is why the British Government are using the police to harass the EDL.
