Leicester City Council actually refused a homecoming parade for British troops after Afghanistan

From the EDL page.

The English Defence League was founded in the aftermath of disrespect being shown towards our brave troops. Support for our armed forces continues to be a central value of the EDL. It is outrageous that the men and women of our armed services have to endure hostility when they return home from active service. This is not acceptable and the EDL will not remain silent when they are not treated with the respect they deserve.

It would appear that Leicester City Council has took it upon itself to snub the 9th/12th Royal Lancers by turning down a request for a homecoming parade in the city after the regiment saw action in Afghanistan. It does not come as a surprise that the city council is Labour controlled; socialists in general seem to have contemptuous attitudes to our country’s institutions, especially the military ones. They also have a tendency to put the interests of Islamic agitators before the interests and desires of the broader community. Left wing pacifist types need to understand that their trendy political views are underwritten by those put their lives on the line to protect this country and its democratic way of life.

The EDL takes a very dim view of the attitude taken by Leicester City Council and feels very strongly that the people of Leicester should be provided with the opportunity to demonstrate their appreciation to the 9th/12th Royal Lancers. Leicester City Council seems to be taking our national defence and those that underwrite it with their lives for granted. The EDL calls upon Leicester City Council to reverse its decision. If Council opposition continues then the EDL will have no choice but to express its disappointment and outrage by holding a national demonstration in Leicester on the first weekend in August.

Respect to the 9th/12th Royal Lancers.

No Surrender!

  1. The lefties won`t like the EDL intruding on the continuing UK Eugenics experiment previously known as Leicester! As the indigenous population have not been completely routed yet! Any criticism of forced cultural assimilation could cause the sleeping masses
    to WAKE UP!

    The Mail newspaper….

One in four primary school pupils are from an ethnic minority and almost a million schoolchildren do not speak English as their first language

“In Manchester, Bradford, ****Leicester***** and Nottinghamshire white British primary pupils are in a minority. And in Luton just 30 per cent are classified as white British”.

  2. It would seem that given the choice of having the homecoming parade or having 2,000 EDL turn up in early August at the start of Ramadan has focussed their minds. They’ve done an about turn and decided to have the parade after all. Of course they’re coming up with some crap why there was a 24 hour about turn, but I think they worked out that it was cheaper to pay £10,000 for a homecoming parade (and upset the Muslims less) than 20 times that and a jihad on their hands.

How is being in Afghanistan protecting our country and democratic way of life?

I’m no fan of war, it’s necessary to help other countries when atrocities are happening, but to piss on those left of the middle with ridiculous reasoning is odd.

  4. The entire Afghanistan campaign has been marred by misinformation from the start. This just adds to my conviction that the Allies had no intention of taking out the Taliban at all. They merely wanted a reprieve in the war that Islam has declared upon the rest of the world by tackling the Taliban first and not the Saudis.

We need to understand that this war needs to be fought as if we were in Europe, North Africa and Asia during WWII. The Taliban, al-qeda and other terrorist groups are merely the irregular forces that Islam’s leaders have set up, or have allowed to be set up, as martyrs in a war against everything that the free world represents. The clandestine funding of these groups through elaborate shell companies just adds fuel to my conviction.

In time, the Taliban will gain what they lost, recruit more devout Muslims to their cause and move further into Central Asia. They will not stop until most of Russia and eastern Europe is in Muslim hands, then move into the west via the Balkans with the aid of Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa and the fifth columns that are already present in the west.

Leicester City Council, in their reversal of their original decision, have shown that they are not ready to fight the fifth columns within their city limits and would rather stage the parade, albeit with a lot of security to prevent Muslims from perpetrating violence.

Yet the EDL are ready to take the fight on and protect the freedoms that Brits have fought so hard for since the time of King John and the Magna Carta. For that, they should be hailed as the freedom fighters they really are, not vilified as “Islamophobes”.
