For the first time in my life I applaud the French and support them in what they are doing.It is about time countries stop changing their ways for the benefit of muslims.Let these people go home to their countries and do as they wish,in other countries they must conform to its laws and customs.
Simply put, the burka (or burqa as some would spell it) is nothing more than the Muslim equivalent of the yellow star which the Nazis forced Jews to wear before and during WWII. Only within Islam, its for one half of the population, not just members of a minority religion.
This symbolism extends to all headgear that is required of women when they travel outside of the home and for non-believers as well.
That alone makes the forced wearing of these articles of clothing politically motivated.
Which means that it should be banned just as the Allies stopped forcing Jews to wear yellow stars, gays and lesbians to wear pink triangles, communists to wear whatever it was they were supposed to wear, etc. once the Nazis were defeated.
A final argument against this particular article of clothing is that there have been numerous robberies by men wearing the full-body gear. Its too convenient a disguise for criminals to let it be worn unchecked.
