Egypt protests: America’s secret backing for rebel leaders behind uprising

So, is Obama MB or what?

From The Telegraph:

The American government secretly backed leading figures behind the Egyptian uprising who have been planning “regime change” for the past three years, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

The American Embassy in Cairo helped a young dissident attend a US-sponsored summit for activists in New York, while working to keep his identity secret from Egyptian state police.
On his return to Cairo in December 2008, the activist told US diplomats that an alliance of opposition groups had drawn up a plan to overthrow President Hosni Mubarak and install a democratic government in 2011.

He has already been arrested by Egyptian security in connection with the demonstrations and his identity is being protected by The Daily Telegraph.
The crisis in Egypt follows the toppling of Tunisian president Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali, who fled the country after widespread protests forced him from office.

  1. Why does this not surprise me, Obama attacks our friends and ignores or helps our enemies. Things are going to get real nasty in the Middle East this year.

  2. Barack Quisling Obama does it again.

Like it or not, the USA has been a crucial counterbalance in the world, and Obama’s castration of America’s power is the single most important event leading to this impending train wreck in the Middle East.

Obama, just after his election, told the Egyptian foreign minister “just watch what I’m going to do with Israel”.

Now that Obama’s “outreach” to the muslim world has resulted in the disappearance of Turkey and Egypt as allies however imperfect, the emboldening of all Arab groups, the normalization of demonization of Israel and Jews in general, his goal of the isolation of Israel seems right on schedule.

Israel is now virtually alone in the world. At official levels only Canada and Italy have the guts to step up to definitively affirm support of Israel. Only two nations.

What the hell’s wrong with this picture? It’s as if the world is bound and determined to hasten theological prophesies. I’m no Biblical literalist but damn, things are all falling into place just as predicted.

    From VFR

    Jeff W. writes:

I am getting a strong feeling lately that the Western world can no longer dodge God’s punishment. Americans and Europeans are not much better than the Babylonians. They have violated too many of God’s laws and are completely unrepentant.
It is now clear to me, for example, that America cannot solve its budget problems. Spending will continue until a massive financial crisis stops it.

Americans are very thievish. If God’s justice is not brought to bear against thieves, they will continue stealing until they devour everything that is good. God cannot allow that.

  4. DP111 I don’t think we are thieves, in fact more of us are believing Christians then in any other nation.

  5. Richard I agree with you. DP111’s comment is the leftist rhetoric of self-hatred which is designed to bring down the West. It’s time that we reaffirm to the world that, while we are not perfect (as if ANYONE is!), let’s get a grip on reality and realize that ALL the world’s problems are not the fault of the West.

And it’s time that those who like to blame the West for all the world’s problems begin to perhaps appreciate the one or two good things that the West has given to the world.

Anyone who can’t see these things should go back to living in mud huts, renounce ALL technology more advanced than horse and carriage, no electricity for God’s sake, no medicine, no egalitarian philosophy, and get back into the paradise of tribal life again. Or else shut up. Anything less is so painfully hypocritical, laughable.

Eg: Damn the internal combustion engine but can a grab a ride to the ferry? I hear this crap all the time.

Denouncers of the West have no credibility unless they are willing to walk the talk, otherwise it’s all BS.

  6. Very good Dallas we are indeed living in Chinese definition of interesting times, in the fairly near future things are going to get nastier all around the world. I have heard that there are weapons in development that make what is currently know look primitive, I just hope Obama hasn’t canceled all of them.
