By Afghanistan correspondent Sally Sara
Posted 13 minutes ago
Afghan police are hunting for an attacker who sprayed acid in the face of a high-profile Afghan journalist.
Outspoken author and journalist Razaq Mamoon was attacked near his apartment in the capital, Kabul.
Mr Mamoon received burns to his face and hands, but his eyes were partially protected by his glasses.
The well-known reporter has blamed Iran for the attack.
Mr Mamoon has written a book accusing the Iranian government of sabotage and interference in Afghanistan.
But he has also been critical of ethnic Pashtuns in the past.
Mr Mamoon has been moved to a military hospital because of further fears for his safety.
Afghan president Hamid Karzai has condemned the assault.
If I were stationed in either Iraq or Afghanistan I wouldn’t be feeling very safe, things are starting to heat up once again.
