  1. When I was a child hymns and Christmas Carols were played in all major department stores during the Christmas season, it wasn’t usual to see things like this happen. Of course the networks also showed orchestras performing symphonies on live TV. Granted this was in the 1950s but it was nice to have it happen.

  2. Joy, adoration, freedom, brotherhood!
    If only some Muslims had been present. Would they have been intimidated
    thinking — maybe imposing Sharia here won’t be a snap?
    Most of them were choral singers, but lots of them were not.
