Venezuela: Ruling Party Claims Election Victory while people still lined up to vote

STRATFOR SIT REP:

September 27, 2010
Leaders of Venezuela’s ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) claimed victory in the Sept. 26 legislative elections just minutes after the polls closed and four hours before the national electoral council (CNE) announced the first results, Xinhua reported. In some states the voting centers were not closed at the established time because voters were still standing in lines to cast their ballot, CNE chief Tibisay Lucena said.

You know what would be cool? If I had jackets made that look like our flag and wore it all over the place.

Chavez mocks the rubes by pretending to be democratic

  1. “You know what would be cool? If I had jackets made that look like our flag and wore it all over’

I;m not from Venez, but don;t you Americans be hypocrites. You were the Stars and Stripes from socks to underwear to hats. It is so prevalent!

This is lack of respectg for your own flag. The rest of the world, including South America looks aghast at this habit, the people of other countreis would NEVER do this with their flags.

  2. The people in the US are free to wear the flag or burn it. Freedom means people are going to do things other people find distasteful or worse. I don’t remember seeing a president of the US wearing an entire US flag jacket though. Thats a Chavez special. And even if you were right and US presidents do this, Chavez spews invective at the US and its presidents, both Bush and Obama day and night. So imitating them would be at best a little ironic.

  3. @Big Frank
Said, “Uncle Joe Stalin said “it’s not who votes but who counts the votes”.”

    That was Mussolini

  4. First I think President George W Bush wore a flag pin for a while.
Second who expected a honest election? I knew it would be crooked, the one that elected Chavez was and Jimmy Carter (the fool) declared it honest. Now we have another left wing nut bucket down south.
