Not sufficiently humiliated by their capitulation to Pakistan over ‘Everybody draw Mohamed day’ now Facebook has pulled down a Geert Wilders facebook page due to pressure from those who do not like him. Feel free to click through to that link and add your name to a facebook protest page on the issue. I hope someone starts another networking site that isn’t as intrusive and actually allows freedom of speech. Ill join.
Maybe Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg hopes that, through such displays of dhimmitude, his being sentenced to death in Porkistan might be overturned by the courts of that paragon of justice and human rights.
I realize this may be a pendantic observation but Facebook is not infringing anyone’s First Amendment rights with this decision (least of all mine, as Canadian/”British” citizen I have no such rights).
Facebook is no more obligated to publish Geert Wilders than this blog is obligated to publish this comment. That said, none of us have to do business with Facebook.
Charging Facebook with treason, on the other hand…
