“Prague Is Like It Used To Be With US” – A Berliner’s Thoughts In Festive Prague

A friend who lives in Berlin sent this note from Prague:

Tonight, I strolled home from a bar, between 4 and 5 in the morning, for half an hour, alone, across the city. The city was quiet. No rubbish, no screaming. At important buildings, there was the occasional police officer, not paying attention to me. At the access road to the old city, there was another police officer, freezing and bored in the middle of the road, but he was there. Scattered party-goers came my way, with civilized behavior. An elderly man walked his dogs on a leash. I felt safe on the whole way, I had nothing* in my pockets, I dilly-dallied and enjoyed the christmas decorations at the castle hill. All of it was simply enchanting, peace in freedom. Precious christmas decorations were fixed even on the outside of the ground floor windows, little trees with balls, and mangers stood directly on the pedestrian walk, or on the doorsteps. Apparently, no one here is expecting theft, vandalism, riots.

Prague is like it used to be with us.

There had been only nice, civilized people in the bar, most of them czech, and a single black person among them who was eager to be the nicest person, too. Earlier this night a friend had told me about Mannheim, where, as a woman, you don’t go anywhere alone at night anymore. And WE are lecturing the Visegrad states? On what? Spare your words!

  1. The Visguard nations are trying to protect their culture and what remains of Western Civilization, the Western European leaders are trying to destroy their culture and what remains of Western Civilization. The world is once again entering into a war to determine if freedom will survive or be destroyed for several centuries. The younger generations in all European and North American nations are once again called on to stand up and fight to ensure that their children and Grandchildren will live in free nations. As is usual the enemies of freedom have fooled many people in all Western Nations and they (the enemy within) are helping the Islamic Invasion that the Western Leaders are using to destroy the west so they can install their one world government that will quickly emerge as a dystopian place that will destroy all that is good and create a new Dark Age.

    • “… will destroy all that is good and create a new Dark Age.”

Richard, that is the *best* of scenarios should free people lose the fight. the ones ruling would be the one-worlders / leftists, and their dystopia would collapse on their heads even as they are desperately murdering people to keep it going. the worst possible outcome would be if the pious muslims won; in that case, freedom would *never* return. how many places that have been islamic for centuries have U seen become free? with major wars, yes, spain became free of islam, and eventually free, but she is the only one of which i am aware, and she, too, is sinking back into the morass of islamic depravity.

      • You are right there, but I have my doubts that Islam will manage to conquer much more then it now has. In fact it is possible that Islam may be forced out of several regions it now controls. This won’t happen quickly but is possible over the next Century, providing some nations remain free to be used as strong points from which to launch a liberation of Europe. Dispite what many readers think and say the US needs a free and independent Europe as much as they need a free and independent US. Norse Radish is right when he says that once things get bad enough the Western powers will use nuclear weapons to ensure that they and what remains of their freedom survive.

  2. This account is heart-wrenching beyond words. In 2008 I had the privilege of traversing the fringe of Eastern Europe (from Munich, through Austria, then Slovakia, the Czech Republic) and on into Eastern Germany – my final destination.

It was one of the most delightful excursions of my entire life.

Entering Prague from a hilltop location and wending my way down into the old town sector was totally enchanting. Purchasing for my friend a copy of Kafka’s, “The Trial”, at the store which once was the haberdashery of Franz’s own father merely lent even greater charm to my adventure.

Knowing that I was seeing nations which were no longer under the grinding heel of Soviet Russian tyranny filled my heart beyond all measure.

The delicious food, beautiful countryside, and gracious people only served to engrave this joy all the more upon my heart.

May the Visegrad states NEVER succumb to EU coercion and live forever!

  3. The pestilence that is Islam tries to devour and destroy whatever it comes into contact with. I find it wonderful that eastern Europe is trying to keep this scourge at bay. I fear that it is too late for western Europe.

    • Its never too late. It can be however, too late for certain types of solutions. If we were talking about treating an infection, it is too late for a prophylactic. It is too late for simple antibiotics. But its not too late for say, minor amputations and major infusion of antibiotics. The longer we wait to act, the more harsh the treatment must be. This is pretty much a universal axiom in terms of dealing with problems.

  4. Funny you should mention infections and antibiotics. I was speaking to a customer yesterday who has a PHD in Philosophy and economics. He works for a tier 1 company in Finance dealing in billions. It was his opinion that the world is due a major correction. Financially the stock market records make no sense ,so the economy will most likely blow up big time…..forget state pensions in twenty years…… and whilst I believe he has a social understanding of the problems of immigration and Islam, he said the number 1 risk factor that all financial institutions believe will bring this correction is a pandemic.
Not the 1919 variety but something worse even than under Justinian in the 4th or fifth century ( cant remember which one),where over half the population of Europe was wiped out by the plague.
A perfect storm is on the horizon. The dots are joining up.

War, famine , pestilence and death.

    I left that house cheery!

    • A perfect storm is on the horizon.

Look no further than Communist China.

      A short “Chinese laundry” list:

The biggest economic bubble in all of human history (real estate & stock market)
Irreparable genetic disruption (i.e., One Family One Child & excess male cohort)
Catastrophic environmental damage (90% of all surface water is non-potable)
The world’s largest medically caused HIV/AIDS epidemic (still uncontained)
Like Islam… Making too many enemies too fast
Driving all of East Asia towards nuclear armaments (i.e., Japan, Korea, Taiwan)
+1,500 Square miles annual loss to desertification
      Massive, endemic corruption
Involuntary human organ harvesting (killing 1.5 million people in a decade)
Routinely substandard quality of infrastructure construction (Three Gorges Dam)
Deliberate interference with Southeast Asian hydro resources (casus belli)

That’s a simple dozen of end-game catastrophes that Communist China has invoked through massive corruption and idiotic, “central planning”. Go figure.
