  1. Call for FPÖ chief’s Facebook page to be shut (thelocal, Oct 28, 2016)
    https://www.thelocal.at/20161028/lawyer-calls-for-freedom-party-chiefs-facebook-page-to-be-closed

“The Austrian lawyer who filed a criminal case against the leader of the Freedom Party (FPÖ), Heinz-Christian Strache, for inciting hatred has called for Strache’s Facebook page to be shut down.

Georg Zanger wants the FPÖ boss and several other people who left comments on his popular Facebook page to be charged with inciting hatred. The Vienna Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating the case and will make a decision on whether Strache may have broken Austria’s speech laws against minorities and refugees.

Strache posted a newspaper article about a young Syrian asylum seeker attempting to kill himself by lying in front of a tram in Vienna, with the comment: ‘Stunned!’. It triggered a wave of hate comments directed at asylum seekers, and anyone critical of an anti-immigration viewpoint.

Zanger says that in order for Strache to avoid facing pretrial detention as he is at risk of repeating the offence of hate speech, his Facebook page should be closed down immediately.

Strache meanwhile is furious about the allegations. “Some people are obviously trying to criminalize me, to target me personally and to ban freedom of expression and press freedom on my Facebook page,” he wrote on Facebook.

This week, Strache provoked criticism by posting a picture of himself on Austria’s national day in front of an Austrian flag and the parliament building, along with a verse from the “Kernstock-Hymne? – the national anthem of Austria from 1929 until 1938.

Lawyers have differing views on whether or not the FPÖ chief is responsible for the comments that other users make on his popular Facebook page. Though many of the ‘hate speech’ posts are promptly removed by the page’s administrator, some are left up for hours. Some legal experts claim that the length of time it takes to delete the posts could be a factor – especially if they are inciting violence.

The punishments for hate speech were toughened up last year, and can now mean a jail sentence of up to one year. So far in 2016, 16 cases have gone to court. In July, a 40-year-old Viennese woman was sentenced to four months in prison for posting hate comments on Facebook.

In neighbouring Germany, PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann was found guilty of inciting hatred earlier this year after he posted comments on his Facebook page, referring to asylum seekers as “cattle,” “scum,” and “trash.””

  2. Renzi and Orban spar over migrants, Italy ready for veto (ansamed, Oct 28, 2016)
    http://www.ansamed.info/ansamed/en/news/nations/europe/2016/10/28/renzi-and-orban-spar-over-migrants-italy-ready-for-veto_da6bef99-5d48-4e79-85bc-753b213f48a0.html

“Premier Matteo Renzi on Friday sparred with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban over compulsory migrant quotas with the Italian leader reiterating he is ready to wield an EU budget veto unless countries like Hungary take in their fair share of asylum seekers.

Orban responded that he would in turn veto migrant quotas if his country was forced to “bite the bullet” on receiving migrants and refugees.

Renzi had hit back after Orban said he was “irritable” because of Italy’s migrant and budget problems. “Orban has an imprecise vision of Italy,” Renzi told Radio Radicale, reiterating that Italy was ready to veto the new EU budget if Budapest and others keep refusing to do their bit to help with the asylum-seeker crisis. “In other words, it’s not true that the deficit is increasing, it is not true that Italy is in difficulty and it’s not true we are irritable. “Either Europe acknowledges the documents that Europe itself signed and takes charge of the migrants or there will be a wonderful new development – Italy will veto any budget that does not contemplate equal obligations and equal rights”.

Renzi said Italy was no longer willing to be the European Union’s moneybox as he reiterated his veto threat. “Each year Italy gives 20 billion euros to Europe and it gets back 12,” Renzi told Radio Radicale. “Today there’s a wonderful new development. Being as we are starting to discuss the budget, the Italian premier will veto any budget that does not contemplate equal obligations and equal rights. The time when Italy was the piggy bank is over”.

He also said that Orban calling him “irritable” showed that his budget veto threat had “made a mark”.

Orban, in response, said he was ready to veto the EU’s compulsory migrant distribution quotas and said he would if necessary “file a suit” against the European Commission at the European Court of Justice. He called the quotas “a toad” that “the bigger EU members are trying to make us swallow”, using an expression that means “to bite the bullet”.

Orban vowed a “big battle” against the quotas and called on the Slovakian EU duty presidency to take them off the agenda of a December summit. (ANSAmed).”

  3. US warns over attack plots in Mauritania capital (ahram, Oct 28, 2016)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/2/9/246806/World/International/US-warns-over-attack-plots-in-Mauritania-capital.aspx

“The US embassy in Mauritania said Friday it had received information about “near-term” attacks targeting Americans in the capital Nouakchott, urging its nationals to remain alert.

The warning came in the wake of appeals by the Islamic State (IS) group for its followers to carry out attacks across the world, the statement said, urging Americans to be vigilant especially when “frequenting locales associated with Westerners”.

“The US government has received information that terrorist groups are planning to carry out near-term attacks against places where US citizens congregate in Nouakchott,” said a statement on the embassy’s Facebook page.

“When going out, avoid being part of large, highly visible groups of Westerners and avoid sitting in areas that are easily visible from the street. Be particularly alert when frequenting locales associated with Westerners,” it advised Americans…”

  4. “Insulted Muslims Forced A Maryland School To Ban Christmas Because They Found It “Insulting”

The War on Christmas continues as Muslims in the Montgomery County School District in Maryland successfully strip the Christian holiday from the school’s calendar. In addition to this measure, the schools will no longer recognize Easter or Yom Kippur to satisfy unhappy Muslim parents and students.

The controversy began when the Muslim community put pressure on the school board to include the Islamic holiday Eid al-Adha on their calendar. Their claim was that Eid al-Adha was a religious holiday that was just as important as Christmas is to Christians and Yom Kippur is to Jews.
Students who followed the religion complained that, just like Christmas, Eid al-Adha was about spending time with their family. However, when students missed a day from school, they would find themselves buried in homework and falling behind their classmates.

The board responded by saying the holidays recognized on the school’s calander were not about honoring or accepting a religion, nor were they about giving children time to spend with their families. Instead, the school was considering the high absentee of students and faculty members on the Jewish and Christian holidays.

The Muslim community’s Eid al-Adha simply did not warrant a school closure because, historically, absenteeism was not any higher or lower on that day. Dana Tofig, public information officer for school district, said, “The absentee rate on Eid holidays, when they’ve fallen on a school day, haven’t been considerably higher or lower than it is on any other given day.”

For this reason, the school district simply couldn’t justify adding Eid al-Adha onto their calendar as a recognized holiday.
Montgomery County Schools superintendent Joshua Starr offered a compromise. recommended that the names of every holiday be removed from the school calendar.

In a 7-1 vote, Yom Kippur, Easter, and Christmas will be removed from the school’s calendar and in their place, “Winter Break” and “Spring Break.” Charges of discrimination against the Montgomery County School Board from the Muslim community have made it so that no side is happy, and everybody loses.”

  7. Ancient Muslims Acknowledged Dome Was Jewish!

There is a delicious irony in watching vicious critics doing somersaults in an effort to cover their tracks! And it comes hard on the heels of yesterday’s UNESCO debacle.

UNESCO, against all logic, history, archaeology, sense and biblical truth, said the Western Wall and the Dome belong solely to Muslims, insisting that it has never been in Jewish hands or used as part of Judaistic religion. They voted twice to come to their ridiculous conclusion, after much harassment from Islamic nations.

Even so, archaeological finds continue to show just how bizarre Islamic claims are. And international outrage abounds.

But, surely the best proof (next to Biblical records) against the Islamic claim comes from an ancient Muslim!! A Muslim inscription clearly refers to Beit al Maqdis (or, Beit Hamikdash in Hebrew). To the horror of Islamists, this means ‘the Jewish Temple’! (Source: Ninth annual conference on archaeological discoveries, held at the Hebrew University this week).

The inscription is dated in the 10th century AD, and is found above a mihrab-prayer niche in a mosque of Nuba. So, the slap in the face comes not only from an ancient Muslim inscriber – but it exists in an Islamic mosque! (Jewish Press, Oct 28th).Talk about a ‘double whamee’!

  8. ‘There’s no halal meat’ Migrants brand France racist and say they want to come to Britain (express, Oct 29, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/726495/Calais-Jungle-migrant-crisis-refugee-asylum-seeker-France-racist-Britain-Normandy

“MIGRANTS recently evicted from the Calais Jungle have branded France racist and says they will do anything to come to Britain.

The migrants claim they were hoodwinked by French authorities, who told them they would be given a “big house in a big city”, but found themselves holed-up in a dirty former children’s home in rural Normandy with no halal meat in sight.

Before they arrived, locals dumped manure outside their soon-to-be-home and lit a bonfire by way of protest.

Rahmat Ahmadi, 18, says conditions are so bad that many migrants are looking to escape in a bid to find their own way across the Channel.

Rahmat said: “They lied to us migrants.

“They promised we would go from the Jungle to a big house in a city. But they dumped us here in a place with no halal meat in the meals, no internet, and where we sleep ten to a bedroom and the kitchen is covered in flies.

“The cows over the fence are better cared for than us. We were tricked and we are going to walk out.

“They are racist. We don’t want to stay here and will just leave and go to a city to wait our chance to get to the UK from there.”…”
