2.Ontario: Popeyes in fight over Halal chicken

A group of Muslim restaurant franchisees is fighting fast-food chain Popeyes Louisiana Chicken in court over the right to sell hand-slaughtered Halal meat for religious reasons.
The battle in Ontario Superior Court comes after the Atlanta-based franchise moved to replace the chicken supply with machine-killed birds in 14 Toronto restaurants. The company says it’s still Halal-certified; the franchisees claim the machine method is against the beliefs of a majority of Muslims.
“If I begin selling machine-slaughtered chicken, I will immediately lose an enormous segment of my customers,” reads the sworn affidavit from Abdul Haffejee, who owns eight Popeyes in the GTA.
Haffejee, who donates Popeyes chicken to mosques and sponsored Muslim Day at Canada’s Wonderland, said between 50 and 80 per cent of his customers are Muslim.

According to TV2.dk, an 8 year old girl in Græstad, a small village in Northern Sjælland, on Thursday morning was victim of a horror experience. She was awakened by a stranger, an adult male in her bedroom.
The man held the girl, while he talked about sex. The girl managed however, to call for help before the man was able to conduct a rape.

5. Israel: Islamic jihadists firebomb Jewish apartment in Jerusalem
A Jewish Jerusalem apartment was allegedly targeted by Arab terrorists with a firebomb Saturday evening, resulting in the residence’s balcony going up in flames before safely being extinguished by firefighters, police and fire officials said Sunday.
The incident took place at 9:37 p.m. when an unidentified suspect threw the firebomb at the Armon HaNatziv residence, located on Meir Nakar Street in the capital’s East Talpiot neighborhood, Jerusalem District Fire Department spokesman Kobe Erev said.

I read the Quran about six or seven years ago and have been exhorting people to read it ever since. For my efforts, not one single person has ever taken me up on my suggestion, and up to now I remain the only person I know who has read the Quran. We’re like mice, transfixed by the stare of the cobra, quietly squeaking as we shake in fear and wait for death…
Chris my experience is similar.
I will ask people if they have read quaran. Inevitably they will say: “Parts of it” to which I answer, “You mean you have heard one verse quoted on TV a lot. Let me guess. Is it the verse that says ‘if you kill one person its like you have killed all of mankind?’ to which they stare blankly trying to conceal the fact that I busted them.
Then I explain the facts about that verse. How its from the Jerusalem Talmud and how the next verse abrogates it by commanding the death of the unbeliever and the definition of innocence etc.
Eventually this does get through to people but its one at a time and it takes months to years before they get it. Still, the cost of not doing so is higher.
I actually know a woman who, when last I spoke to her, was actually writing a book on comparative religions for the purpose of showing how Islam was the same as Christianity and Judaism and so on. She dressed in off white jute or raw cotton or something new-ageish, and called herself a cleric, a sort of generic religious leader. This woman had never heard of Reliance of the Traveler or Hadiths or the Sunna. In fact she stopped talking to me when she realized that I knew vastly more about Islam than she did and she was the one writing the book. Despite my being very polite about it, which the situation required at the time, she has avoided me ever since. This is more problematic than the usual person on the street who is ignorant of the facts which would change their view. This is someone who spreads ignorance to the rest of us, and demands it of herself.
My guess is she operates on government grants.
We have all had the same experience, most people are afraid to think for themselves.
