1. Senior police officer under fire for the crime of saying something more or less true.

(So its not just the public who get in trouble for stating the truth after all. I guess we plebs can take small comfort in knowing that the officer who arrests us is constrained by the same forced illusion. Even so, I am not so certain that he is exactly correct. It all depends on how you define ethnicity. If it means racial background it really doesn’t have to present a threat. But if it means diverse ideological backgrounds in a location where people are paid to preserve their original ideologies and not adapt then its a guaranteed civil war. Guaranteed. It should also be noted that by “Multi-Ethnic” the officer clearly meant muslim)

The president of Montreal’s police union says officers here are a target for attacks because it’s a “multi-ethnic” city.

Yves Francoeur told Radio-Canada that “police officers are not immune to the possibility of attack because of the ‘multi-ethnic’ character of Montreal.”

When asked about his statements on CBC’s Daybreak, Francoeur said radicalized Islamic attacks are a factor the police need to consider.

He said the police have good relationships with Muslim leaders, but that radical attacks are a concern for the police force.

(In the link in the middle, there is another story which is interesting. But they don’t say radicalized what? Radicalized Buddhist? Jain? Stamp collector? Half of CBC’s budget must go to purchasing Wite-Out)

2. This BBC report on one of the attacks in France at least paints it as an attack.

3. Nigeria’s Gombe and Bauchi cities hit by blasts

At least 26 people have been killed in bombings in two major cities in northern Nigeria, emergency workers and witnesses say.

The first blast at bus rank in Gombe killed at least 20 while another six died in an explosion at a market in Bauchi, they added.

Militant Islamist group Boko Haram is waging an insurgency in the area.

Meanwhile, a video purportedly released by the group shows dozens of people being executed at a school dormitory.

They were made to lay face down before being shot dead.

There is no independent confirmation that Boko Haram produced the video. It is unclear where or when it was shot.

4. GÜLEN: ‘EXPLODE YOURSELVES LIKE A BOMB AGAINST THE US’

ISTANBUL — It has been discovered that Fethullah Gülen, the leader of the Gülen Movement who claims to base his movement on dialogue and tolerance amongst different religions, has previously made radical remarks encouraging Muslims to destroy “infidels.”

Gülen’s call for taking violent action against non-Muslims can be traced to the voice recording of a sermon which he preached in the 1980s following the 1980 coup d’etat, when he left the city of ?zmir and traveled to different cities in Anatolia.

Allegedly preaching about the significance of Jerusalem for Muslims, Gülen can be heard crying and criticizing himself and all Muslims for failing to protect the holy city of Jerusalem and Masjid al-Aqsa Mosque.

5. Indonesian Islamists threaten Christmas celebrations

For the past few years, the Christian festivity has become an excuse for violence and targeted attacks. Among Muslims, moderates defend Christmas whilst fundamentalists view it as “haram”, sinful. Whilst Jakarta Governor sets up a tree, President Jokowi travels to Papua for the celebration. Meanwhile, members of the Yasmin Church prepare to celebrate the event outdoor.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) – Indonesia’s Christian community is getting ready for Christmas celebrations, a festivity that has become in recent years a source of controversy and a pretext for attacks and violence by extremist Islamic groups.

Once again, Muslim fundamentalists have issued warnings and threats, stating that Muslims are not allowed to wear Christmas symbols or exchange greetings with Christian friends and colleagues.

The controversy has generated conflict among Muslims as well. Moderate groups have criticised hard-liners and stressed the pluralistic and multicultural vision of the world’s most populous Muslim nation.

6. A Pakistani in Dubai claims his wife stabbed herself to death while drunk.  So he put her body in a garbage bag and dumped it in another emirate.  ‘LR will be deported after competing his jail term

(once again, an argument for knife control!)

7. More on today’s PEGIDA marches from German news.

8. Student Leader: ‘No Sympathy‘ for Executed NYPD Officers

Following the execution of two New York Police Department officers, a Brandeis University student leader wasted no time in making it clear that she did not care that they were murdered.

“i have no sympathy for the nypd officers who were murdered today,” Khadijah Lynch, a junior and an Undergraduate Department Representative in the African and Afro-American Studies Department, wrote on Twitter.

. Thank you Wrath of Khan, M., Don C., Arun, and many more. And Im pretty sure there will be more today. And not because there aren’t things I would rather do. but because there is little more important to do.

  1. I would have said it is a multicultural mix that threatens the police officers but the current attempts (so far successful) to foment a race war in the US shows that the man has a lot of truth in his statement.
