The Sydney Siege and the Elephant in the Room

In the story of the three blind men in a room with an elephant, one man declares that the elephant is like a pillar as he touches the elephant’s leg.  Another says that the elephant is like a snake as he touches the trunk, whilst the last man says that the elephant is like a large fan as he explores the ear.

This is very much like how our governments, politicians, establishment and media treat Islam.  Islam is the giant elephant in the room.  They each declare what they think Islam is, based on what they are told by Muslim groups or by the far-left.  They just cannot see what the elephant in the room really is.  And this was never more evident in the coverage of the Sydney coffee shop siege.  The BBC declared that they couldn’t see a relationship between the flag shown in the coffee shop window and the ISIS flag.  Anyone with half a brain at the BBC who had bothered to do even a simple Google search would have discovered that the black flag is the Islamic flag of war – Jihad war.

We were then bombarded by various ‘authorities’ who again said that this had nothing to do with Islam and yet somehow overlooked the fact the terrorist was a Muslim – an imam by all accounts or at least the Shia Muslim version.  Again simple searches would have thrown up that this man was motivated by his religious beliefs.

This will no doubt fade quickly from people’s memories because the casualties were minimal (sadly two hostages were killed in the gunfire).  No doubt the same song will be sung that this has nothing to do with Islam and of course the never-ending concern about the non-existent rise of Islamophobia.

This article started with the story of the blind men and the elephant so let’s finish it with a modern corollary that underlines how the authorities think.  Six elephants meet in a room to discuss humans.  They agree they need to learn about humans so one volunteers to examine one.  He comes back and reports that humans are flat.  The other elephants go and look and agree.

15,000 join anti-Islam protest in Dresden

Fifteen thousand people marched in the eastern German city of Dresden on Monday (15 December) in protest against “asylum cheaters” and the rising “Islamisation” of the West.

Marking a 50% rise in attendance since the demonstration last Monday, the founder of the Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident (PEGIDA), Lutz Bachmann, addressed the protestors saying: “The people are with us! Everywhere now, in every news rag, on every senseless talk show, they are debating, and the most important thing is: the politicians can no longer ignore us!

  2. My thoughts exactly. The frustration I felt whilst watching this tragedy unfold on tv was almost unbearable. The refusal of authorities, from governments to the police to fully acknowledge the fact that islam is behind this attack,to the BBC where one commentor said”there’s a black flag being held up to the window, but we’re not sure what that represents…” What? Our governments have allowed these rabid dogs into our countries and need to say “no more!”.More deaths will surely follow because islam is death and it’s followers of the devil.I feel so sorry for those who lost their lives but even sorrier for all peoples who refuse to acknowledge this huge elephant in the room.

  3. It isn’t humanly possible to keep track of all the horror Islam generates.

One way to organize the mountain of raw data might be a ‘This Day in History’ approach, a list of Islam-inspired events by month and day. ‘This Day in Islamic Atrocity’ sort of thing. But you still end up with very unwieldy lists.

  4. The elephant in the room is the very fact that the religion of Islam is an evil thing and its prophet was a particularly nasty Bedouin gangster, not a holy man of any kind. That is the elephant in the room. Then all the little cowards look straight through the 6,000 lb animal and say, I don’t see no elephant, what ‘chew talking about? You crazy or something? Elephants…sheesh!”.

    • The politicians are either afraid of being called racists or are members of the far left trying to destroy the west, there are a few that are shown on this blog on a fairly regular basis who are talking about the truth about Islam. Look at the way the LSM treats them and you will discover why more politicians are toeing the politically correct line and working to ensure cultural suicide for the west.

  5. My view is that the West is playing a strategic game.

Thirteen years after 9/11, there is no excuse for any Westerner to claim ignorance of Islam, despite the MSM and politicians claiming that Islam is a religion of peace.

Surely it must be obvious that all leading Western politicians are singing from the same hymn book. They know of Islam, but they cannot, for political, strategic and other reasons, admit that fact, while waging war against Muslim states. Why destroy Libya, why Syria, why Egypt?

Politicians are doing what they do for geopolitical reasons.

    1. To prevent violent disorder in Western countries, and the breakdown of law and order. I agree with this.
    2. To wage war on Islam (invading Muslim countries for genuine or any made-up reason), while pretending not to.
    3. To divide the Islamic world while the war is in progress.
