About 60 people were also wounded in the bombing in Yahyakhail district.

It came after Afghan MPs approved security deals allowing Nato and US soldiers to remain after the withdrawal of most foreign troops next month.

Business Insider:

Kabul (AFP) – Around 50 people were killed and 60 others injured when a suicide blast ripped through crowds gathered to watch a volleyball game in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, officials said.

Reuters) – Kenyan security forces have pursued and killed more than 100 militants and destroyed their camp in Somalia after the ambush of a Nairobi-bound bus that killed 28 people, Deputy President William Ruto said on Sunday.

Somalia’s Islamist al Shabaab militants have claimed responsibility for the attack on Saturday, when gunmen ordered passengers on the bus to recite Koran verses and shot dead non-Muslims – 19 men and nine women – who could not.

Anjem Choudary has had his stall ban lifted

Choudary is on police bail after he was arrested for allegedly being a member of a proscribed group.

Among strict bail conditions, the 47-year-old was banned from attending so-called Da’Wah stalls which proselytise and preach Islam.

District Judge Howard Riddle announced yesterday the condition will be scrapped after December 18.

In a ruling at London Westminster Magistrates Court, he said: “I understand the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s argument that such stalls have been misused to spread extremist literature.

  1. You know all the descriptions of the “Rohingya” merely as a persecuted minority attacked by Myanmar Buddhists for no reason? Leaves out the uncomfortable truth of the “Rohingya” – Buddhist conflict really being about Islamic jihad just like it is in India. 2. UK – Muslim MP: 2,000 Britons fighting for Islamic State

As many as 2,000 Britons are fighting alongside Islamist militants in Syria and Iraq, a senior Muslim MP has claimed.

Officials had suggested that the number of British jihadists within the ranks of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) and other terrorist groups was about 500.

However, Khalid Mahmood, the Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, a constituency with a significant number of Muslims, has suggested this was a fourfold underestimate of the number of British jihadists fighting in the region.

“The authorities say there are 500 British jihadists but the likely figure is at least three to four times that,” he said. “I think 2,000 is a better estimate. My experience in Birmingham is it is a huge, huge problem.”

    • ISIS recruiting in South Africa

Cape Town – An estimated 140 South Africans have reportedly joined the Islamic State (ISIS) insurgency to fight in Iraq and Syria, with at least three already killed in action.

According to the Sunday Independent, Iraq’s ambassador to South Africa Dr Hushaim al-Alawi has confirmed the men’s deaths, saying they were covered up as car accidents.

He said he had notified the Department of International Relations and Co-operation but Department of State Security spokesperson Brian Dube said he was unaware of any South Africans joining ISIS but said intelligence officials would look into it.

According to the newspaper, ISIS is actively recruiting South Africans in the country, and raising funds under the guise of humanitarian aid.

Al-Alawi said that one of the deceased, a 24-year-old man, was recruited by a group in Gauteng that uses the slogan of supporting refugees and orphans. The deceased had travelled with a group of young men from Azaadville and Lenasia.

The other two victims were a 26-year-old from Vereeniging and a 54-year-old man from Cape Town.

    • “As many as 2,000 Britons are fighting alongside Islamist militants in Syria and Iraq, a senior Muslim MP has claimed.”

I don’t understand why these ancient English are not fighting for Moderate ISIS, when this senior MP for Muslims tells us 2,000 are fighting for Fundamental Islam. I don’t know therefore whether it’s of boastful pride to die for Mohammad, or I should be gravely concerned. George Orwell suggested I hold both thoughts simultaneously in my head and go with whatever the Socialists decree is good today and Hate Crime tomorrow. 3. ARIZONA – Objects thrown at Tucson mosque lead to evictions

TUCSON — Four residents of a high-rise apartment building primarily occupied by University of Arizona students have been evicted for allegedly hurling objects onto the Islamic Center of Tucson.

City Councilman Steve Kozachik told the Arizona Daily Star that the evictions are about protecting people, not about cultural sensitivity.

Kozachik says video from the center and mosque shows objects being thrown off a balcony that the four male residents share.

They received eviction notices Thursday and have until Monday to vacate.

Islamic Center officials say people from three nearby apartment complexes have pelted the property with beer and liquor bottles and other objects for more than a year.

An attorney for the building owners says residents will be evicted if it can be proven they threw objects.

Mosque demands action on debris thrown from U of A high rise

TUCSON – Members of the Tucson Islamic Center say they’ve been under siege by University of Arizona students living in a neighboring high-rise apartment.

Members said for the last 14 months students living in one of “The Towers” near the university, have been throwing objects off their balconies and onto mosque property. According to the members, there have been incidents where people have almost been hit by falling debris.

On Saturday, prior to the Arizona football game, Assad Alassady said he was recording video of debris in the mosque’s parking lot when he felt something fly by his shoulder. “I noticed something fly by me,” said Alassady, “and I heard it on the floor, and it was a can, a can of beer, a beer can.”

Alassady continued shooting video and saw a group of men peering over a top floor balcony. The men yelled at him using expletives, Alassady said. When he saw the same men in front of the building, he called them out.

“Three or four of them approached me,” Alassady said, “one of them was wearing a red shirt. He was sober, the other two were drunk. They were trying to attack me, cussing at me. The other guy goes, ‘don’t listen to them. I’m the sober one. This is my apartment, talk to me I want to talk to you.’ He said we didn’t do it, I told him you were the only guys up there.”

In an effort to put an end to the bombardment, a meeting was held at the Ward 6 Council Office with representatives from The Towers, the Tucson Islamic Center and Tucson Police. Tucson City Councilman, Steve Kozachik, said The Towers’ management has agreed to install several video cameras that will monitor all three buildings. Access to balconies will also be restricted until installation is complete. Kozachik also said anyone involved in an incident will face consequences.

“If they can’t identify who actually threw the object”, said Kozachik, “then anyone who has access to that balcony is subject to eviction.”

Tower resident Crista Butler said she doesn’t believe people tossing the debris are out to injure anyone.

“I feel like if they realize what could happen, like the consequences, they wouldn’t do it,” said Butler, “But people just make dumb decisions.”

Assad Alassady attended the meeting and said whether the person who tossed the can was out to hurt him or not, all involved need to answer for it.

“I want to hold these individuals responsible for their actions for what they did, just to stop it and prevent it,” said Alassady, “thank God it happened to me and not one of our kids, and thank God it missed.”

Those held responsible for throwing debris face the possibility of being evicted they could also be brought up on criminal charges and suspended from the university.
