More islamic influence on civilization: Links post 2 for Nov. 19 – 2014

1. Two men disguised in burkas rob Toronto jewellery store at gunpoint, hauling in $500K in merchandise

Toronto police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying two men who robbed a jewellery store last month while wearing burkas.

(How do they know they are men? Will they start blaming this on the problem of transvestites to shift the blame away from the Islamic dress issue?)

2. ISIS: France to send 6 Mirage fighter jets to Jordan

France will send six Mirage fighter jets to Jordan to strike Islamic State positions fighters in Iraq, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Wednesday. The jets will be reinforcing the nine Rafale ones in the UAE.

3. UCLA Students Vote to Divest From Israel Hours After Synagogue Massacre

Late Tuesday night, the student government at UCLA voted overwhelmingly in favor of a resolution calling on the university to divest from the State of Israel. The move, sponsored by the campus group Students for Justice in Palestine, passed on the same day that two Palestinian terrorists murdered five Jews, including three Americans, as they prayed in a synagogue in Jerusalem.

This is the second time that students at UCLA have voted on the topic of divestment from Israel in the last year. A similar resolution failed to pass in February on a 7-5 vote after TruthRevolt’s Ben Shapiro made an impassioned defense of the Jewish State. This time, pro-divestment activists took steps to prevent outside supporters of Israel from attending the event and a heavy security contingent required student ID or a media pass to gain admission to the hearing.

(Like the European Union and their ‘ratification’ referenda, antisemites just keep having votes till they get one that goes their way. Then of course, they stop)

4. Here is an interview I did with what I have decided to call, ‘a political performance artist’ pretty much as I would call Sergio Redegalli in Australia as well.

This gentleman is an expat Iraqi who realized that the Islamic narrative is dishonest and destructive and became a zionist and does political theater of a sort in the UK. His Youtube channel makes for interesting watching and he has a couple of very interesting ideas he is planning for before the end of this year.

5. Muslims rage as As Ahok, a Christian and ethnic Chinese, becomes the first non-Muslim to lead Jakarta.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) – Basuki Tjahaja ‘Ahok’ Purnama today became officially the new governor of Jakarta. This follows months of political deadlock and open hostility by extremist movements, led by the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), opposed to him because he is a Christian and an ethnic Chinese.

(And more and more clear evidence of Arab-Muslim genuine racism in the real sense appears and not a word from those who claim the monopoly on the moral high ground)

Thank you M., Yucki, GoV., Richard, a couple of Dons and all who sent in materials. More to come I’m afraid.

  1. Communal violence, they say. The PFLP supposedly claimed “credit” for yesterday’s hit. PFLP was founded by a ‘Christian’ Palestinian, George Habash. Killing a Jew wearing teffilin?

I NEVER want to see or hear “Abrahamic religions” again.

  3. Car bomb blast in Iraqi Kurdish city (BBC, Nov 19, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-30110749

“A suicide car bomber has killed at least six people in the Iraqi Kurdish capital, Irbil, local media say.

The blast, accompanied by gunfire, was reported outside the governor’s office, close to the historic citadel in the city centre.

Iraqi Kurds and Iraqi government forces have been battling an advance by Islamic State (IS) militants, but Irbil has largely avoided major attacks.

The oil city has a reputation as a safe base for foreigners.

It has also received thousands of refugees fleeing the IS advance this summer.

The bomb exploded just before midday local time (09:00 GMT) on Wednesday at the main checkpoint outside the governor’s building, an official told AFP news agency.

Images from the scene showed burnt vehicles and a bloodstain on the pavement.

According to the local Rudaw TV channel, two of the dead were police officers.

The Iraqi Kurdish health ministry said 22 people were being treated for their injuries….”

  4. Afghan attack: Foreign workers’ compound targeted in Kabul (BBC, Nov 19, 2014)

“Officials in Kabul say police killed four Taliban suicide bombers during an attack on a compound housing foreign workers in the Afghan capital.

Local residents said they heard gunfire and several explosions but police said there were no civilian casualties.

The attack on the large compound, known as the Green Village, is the second this week targeting foreign workers.

On Monday, two Afghan security guards were killed in a Taliban attack on another Western compound.

“Four suicide bombers have been killed, there was no harm to civilians,” Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Ayub Salangi told reporters.

A Taliban spokesman said the group was behind the attack. …”

  5. Somali-American Who Helped Mogadishu Govt Killed (abcnews, Nov 19, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/somali-american-helped-mogadishu-govt-killed-27018663

“Gunmen shot and killed a Somali-American from Minnesota who had left a well-paying job in the U.S. to help the fledgling city government in Mogadishu, an official and relative said Wednesday.

Abdullahi Ali Anshur, 60, was an engineer helping the Mogadishu government with urban planning and drainage systems. He was killed after armed militants from the Islamic extremist group al-Shabab stopped his vehicle and sprayed it with bullets on Monday, police Capt. Mohamed Hussein said.

Anshur was buried in Mogadishu on Wednesday. He had left his work in Minnesota to help Mogadishu’s municipal government, said a relative who insisted on anonymity for security reasons. Anshur had held a similar job in Mogadishu more than two decades ago before the Somali government collapsed in the early 1990s….”

  6. US Airstrike Hits Al-Qaida-Held Town in Syria (abcnews, Nov 19, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/suspected-us-strikes-hit-syrian-al-qaida-held-27016057

“An overnight American-led airstrike struck al-Qaida militants in northwestern Syria, the U.S. military and Syrian activists said Wednesday.

The strike marked the fourth time the U.S. has targeted the Nusra Front, al-Qaida’s Syrian branch, as part of its broader campaign against the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

The strike hit a storage facility controlled by the Nusra Front near the town of Harem, U.S. Central Command said in a statement. It was one of five airstrikes conducted by the coalition in Syria since Monday, the military said.

U.S. Central Command said the strike targeted the so-called Khorasan group, which Washington says is a special cell within Nusra that is plotting attacks against Western interests.

Inside Syria, activists and rebels dismiss the U.S. attempt to distinguish between the two, saying they are one entity. Many analysts also question the distinction….”

  7. Islamic State: Second Frenchman in killing video named (BBC, Nov 19, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-30112006

“France has named a second Frenchman in a video showing the killing of Syrian prisoners by Islamic State (IS) militants as Mickael Dos Santos, 22.

The Muslim convert comes from an eastern Paris suburb. The other French militant was named as Maxime Hauchard, a convert from Normandy.

In the same video, the severed head of US hostage Abdul-Rahman Kassig was displayed for the camera.

About 1,000 French jihadists are thought to have gone to Syria and Iraq.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said after a security meeting in Beauvais, north of Paris, that “close to 50” French citizens had died in Syria.

“Sadly, we are not surprised to learn that French citizens or residents of France are found at the heart of these cells and taking part in this barbarity,” he added….”

  8. UN: Islamic State Has Enough Weapons for Two Years

The United Nations Security Council released a report that warned the Islamic State (IS/ISIS/ISIL) likely possesses enough arms to continue its jihad in Syria and Iraq for two more years.

The UN report noted that the Islamic State had in its possession two years worth of weapons, ammo, and vehicles to continue fighting for the expansion of its self-declared caliphate.

Additionally, the report states that ISIS may also have at its disposal: fighter jets, T-55 and T-72 battle tanks, man portable air defense systems (MANDPADS), anti-aircraft weaponry, rocket launchers, artillery, and other vehicles.

ISIS also receives upwards of $1.6 million dollars per day in oil revenues, the report estimates, selling on the black market with the bargain price of between $18 to $35 dollars per barrel.

ISIS also raises money through kidnapping and extortion. the UN Security council estimated that the jihadist group has pulled in between $35 and $45 million dollars in the past twelve months through ransom payments, which amounts to over $100,000 per day.

Unnamed UN Member states told the Security Council that ISIS pays its fighters from $200 to $2000 dollars per month, based on skills, along with an additional stipend for each family member that joins the jihad.

The report, however, completely leaves out the several allegations that foreign countries such as Qatar, which also happen to be UN member states, have played a significant role in financing the Islamic State.

The UN Security Council memo concluded: “Countering and neutralizing the threat from ISIL and ANF (Al Nusra Front) requires a comprehensive Security Council strategy that is broad-based and properly ambitious.”

  9. SAUDI – ARABIA – Makkah beauty pageant thwarted

Authorities in Makkah have thwarted plans for a beauty pageant in the holy city, citing the Shariah law that prohibits such a show as reason for the decision.

The pageant, which was planned to take place in one of Makkah’s banquet hall palaces over a period of four consecutive days, starting next Sunday was canceled in response to several appeals by citizens who heard of the upcoming event on social media websites.

A number of local dailies confirmed news of the pageant while the promotional advertisement for the contestants through social media said that the pageant would be titled “Miss Makkah.” A local Arabic newspaper said that the advertisement clearly stated that “a beauty pageant is being held in Makkah for women of any color aged between 17 and 27 years.”

The advertisement called on potential participants to register and take part in the contest free of charge. It also said that the winner would receive a gold ring as the take away prize while runners up could expect valuable gifts.

The Makkah governorate received a report from the Commission for the Prevention of Vice and Promotion of Virtue (Haia), which cited complaints of citizens and invitations sent out to guests and participants as evidence.

The commission’s report indicated that the event was being planned at the initiative of an individual with no involvement of public or private sectors.

The citizens called for an investigation into the matter and authorities have confirmed that the woman who had planned the event had been questioned.

Sources said a Haia team had questioned a banquet hall official and confirmed that the hall had been booked for the pageant. The official said that some businesswomen had reserved the hall and paid for the event.

He added that the commission had instructed them to cancel the event.
Meanwhile, the authorities said that all individuals involved with the event are being investigated.

  11. FGM in Egypt: Doctor and father cleared in landmark trial

The doctor and father of a 13-year-old girl who died after allegedly undergoing female genital mutilation have been acquitted in a landmark trial in Egypt.

Doctor Raslan Fadl was cleared of all charges alongside the father of Suhair al Bataa, a lawyer in the case said.

Suhair died in June 2013. Her doctor denied carrying out FGM on her, and blamed her death on an allergy.

The practice of FGM was banned in Egypt in 2008 but is still widespread.

Over 90% of Egyptian women under 50 have experienced it, according to government statistics.

This was the first time a prosecution relating to FGM had been brought to trial.
    ‘Awful’

Women’s rights activists, who saw the trial as a significant step forward, have expressed dismay at the verdict.

“It is awful that after what seemed to be strong moves towards a positive outcome, Suhair has not been given justice,” said Suad Abu-Dayyeh, a representative for the NGO Equality Now, which pressed for the trial to be brought.

“We can only hope that the strong commitment by the Egyptian government to finally take FGM seriously will result in further moves in the right direction and we will now discuss next steps with the local lawyers.”

Suhair al Bataa, who lived in small farming community on the outskirts of the Nile Delta city of Mansoura, died after allegedly being forced to undergo FGM by her father.

Her doctor said the cause of death was an allergy to penicillin.

The judge in the Nile Delta town of Aga acquitted both men without giving his reasons.

Correspondents say that while some Egyptians are fighting for the practice to be eradicated, others justify it in the name of religion.

Speaking to the BBC earlier this year, her relatives defended the practice of FGM, and insisted no-one was to blame for her death.
