1. London police chief: City bankers, prepare for a terrorist cyber attack. Again

(I am reliably informed by an IT security expert that this is a reliable source)

Western financial institutions should prepare themselves for cyber attacks from Islamic militants, the head of the City of London police warns.

Commissioner Adrian Leppard urged preparations ought to be put at hand during a security conference in New York. According to the FT, he singled Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (aka Isis) as a potential attacker.

5. UN: Islamic State Has Enough Weapons for Two Years

The United Nations Security Council released a report that warned the Islamic State (IS/ISIS/ISIL) likely possesses enough arms to continue its jihad in Syria and Iraq for two more years.

The UN report noted that the Islamic State had in its possession two years worth of weapons, ammo, and vehicles to continue fighting for the expansion of its self-declared caliphate.

Additionally, the report states that ISIS may also have at its disposal: fighter jets, T-55 and T-72 battle tanks, man portable air defense systems (MANDPADS), anti-aircraft weaponry, rocket launchers, artillery, and other vehicles.

ISIS also receives upwards of $1.6 million dollars per day in oil revenues, the report estimates, selling on the black market with the bargain price of between $18 to $35 dollars per barrel.

  1. Regarding obama’s executive amnesty timing for November20, 2014:

This date coincides with the Islamic date Safar 27/28…Safar (???) is the second month in the Islamic calendar.

Literal meaning: Empty. During this month the houses used to be empty and deserted because the ban on going to war in the month of Muharram came to an end and everyone proceeded towards the battlefield. Some people have superstitious beliefs regarding this month i.e. it is a month of misfortune and calamities.
    Historic events on this date:
27 Safar, Migration (Hijrah) from Makkah to Madinah by Muhammad
28 Safar, Martyrdom of Imam Hasan ibn ‘Al?, grandson of Muhammad and 5th Caliph of Islam

  2. Despite Obama stating dozens of times that he lacks the authority to issue executive amnesty, his spite knows no bounds…the date of his executive action, and concentration of broadcast via Univision’s Latin Grammy’s on November 20th illustrates the gravity of his absolute contempt for our Constitution and our nation:

  3. Why the shock about dancing in the streets, and handing out sweets.

Fox should show Palis and Muslims in general, dancing in the streets and handing out sweets on 9/11.

Roll on. We are definitely heading to a full scale war. Lets hope we are not that stupid and antagonise Russia and China – as they have the same problem we have.

  4. A refreshingly clear account of the jihad in southern Thailand, even if the author doesn’t use the term and seems to draw back somewhat from his own conclusions. But that the problems are classic problems with Islam is made plain, also the desperate position of Buddhists in the area and that the Thai government faces unpleasant choices for the future.

Prof. Zachary Abuza writes for Counterterrorism Blog, which also lists Steven Emerson as a contributing expert, so he can’t be entirely in the enemy camp.

Security forces fear Malay school’s thrall

Cho Airong is a downtrodden rural community in central Narathiwat province. For 11 years it’s been a “red zone”, a locus of insurgent operations and violence.

‘Samphan Wittaya is a private Islamic school that comes out of the Sha’a? tradition. It is not a Sala?/Wahhabi madrasa, nor does it espouse the fanatical ideology of Jemah Islamiyah or the Islamic State. That said, Samphan Wittaya, like Thammawittaya, is a very conservative school and the Sha’a?s in southern Thailand and Malaysia have become increasingly pious and orthodox.

‘The Thai government and army see the school as the root cause of the problem. Despite the sign and slogans in Thai and the Thai ?ag ?ying in front of the school — the only one that I saw in the entire town apart from the police post — security forces still believe that the school is fuelling the insurgency and providing the movement with ideological succor and indoctrinated youth. The number of such private Islamic schools that teach in Malay is growing and creating a new generation that has become unassimilated into the Thai nation state….’

    • I don’t have much respect for Jews living in Europe.

Over many years – living, studying, working in Europe – I can’t name one acquaintance, never mind friend – who is Jewish.

      • All I know about them is what I read in the papers, and most of that isn’t good, they seem to be either too stupid to see what is coming or too broke to run.

        • They’re scared.

They thought they’d be safe if they assimilated. So they went whole hog — so to speak.

Thought leftie-multiculti was a sufficiently generous umbrella to shelter the remnant that survived the Holocaust.

They should’ve grabbed the abundant opportunities to settle elsewhere after the war. The best did.

#5 This doesn’t include the weapons that Obama will continue to give to ISIS while he is in office.

  6. Who loses as oil prices keep plunging

WASHINGTON — The rapid plunge in oil and gasoline prices means huge savings for American consumers, but the steep downward swing may ultimately prove dangerously disruptive to energy-producing countries and companies.

[…]But for companies and countries that depend on oil prices for their income, it’s a trend that makes them nervous.

[…]OPEC’s biggest producer and exporter, Saudi Arabia, doesn’t appear keen to cut production, in part because history has shown that most other OPEC members, who depend on oil to fund their governments, won’t reduce production even after they’ve agreed to.

“For those kinds of countries this is a huge shock, and they’re desperate . . . but Saudi Arabia has made it pretty clear it doesn’t want to cut back to give market share to Iraq and Iran,” said Daniel Yergin, a noted oil historian. “If prices fall further, you’re going to see panic.

More complicated is how the falling prices will affect Iran. A temporary arrangement lifting international sanctions that had cut its oil exports will expire Monday, and it’s not clear whether that relief will continue.

If talks with Iran over its nuclear program fail and sanctions are reimposed, that will take more Iranian oil off the global market, which might help keep prices from falling further. But if the nuclear talks are extended, prices might dip even lower.

    ============================================
Iran Launches Hectic Diplomacy over Oil Prices

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said he has held meetings with different members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and discussed ways to prevent further price falls in the world crude market.

Speaking in a televised interview on Wednesday, Zanganeh pointed to his recent visit to Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates where he discussed oil issues, and said he had also conducted consultations with the Venezuelan and Iraqi oil ministers.

“For the forthcoming OPEC session we try to become familiar with the viewpoints of each other in order to become able to follow targets in line with our national interests,” Zanganeh said.

[…] Also in September, Zanganeh called on the OPEC members to make joint efforts to keep oil prices from falling further.

“Given the (ongoing) downward trend of the oil prices, the OPEC members should make efforts to offset their production to keep the prices from further instability,” he said.

OPEC is an international organization and economic cartel whose mission is to coordinate the policies of the oil-producing countries. The goal is to secure a steady income to the member states and to collude in influencing world oil prices through economic means.

OPEC is an intergovernmental organization that was created at the Baghdad Conference on 10–14 September 1960, by Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Later it was joined by nine more governments: Libya, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Algeria, Nigeria, Ecuador, Angola, and Gabon. OPEC was headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland before moving to Vienna, Austria, on September 1, 1965.

    • Note how the thrust of the article is that we in the west, especially the US are suppose to let our economies collapse from high fuel costs to keep the oil producing countries rich.

      • Doesn’t matter what they say, what they spin.
It’s a commodity. It will speak for itself.

Others will spin from there, but they’ll just be spinning their wheels.

        • True this makes the Mideast less capable of fighting a large war but puts Russia in a bind where they may try and take a nation or two to loot. China with no internal oil will be helped by the dropping prices but I don’t know how much or what they will do.

        • Putin’s mad for sure. And he’d love to make that kind of trouble. But those maneuvers are costly to initiate, liquid assets right up front. Rewards – if they pan out – come much later. He may indeed have the cash at hand, I just don’t know.

We’ll have to watch the currency markets’ response. It’s too soon to speculate – unless you’re paid for it. Then you’re paid so much you can be wrong 50% of the time and still make out like a bandit.
