1. Germany: Silencing the Critics of Munich’s Mega-Mosque

Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter said that if the public referendum were permitted to proceed, it would give the anti-mosque campaign “a democratic veneer, which we want to avoid.”

In late 2013, the proposed mosque was given a new name, the Munich Forum for Islam, apparently in an effort to dispel growing public unease about the mosque’s broader ambitions.

Anti-mosque activists say that the enforcers of multiculturalism in Bavaria have determined that the mosque project will proceed, even if it requires bypassing the democratic process.

“By stopping the vote from going ahead, the City Council is preventing your opinion from being abused by the anti-democratic goals of extremists.” — The Munich Forum for Islam.

2. I did an hour long monologue because I simply didn’t have time to publicize the show tonight, largely because I spend a lost day on the phone with tech support. Let me tell you, I have no idea what heaven is like other than I know it is not sharing a single bathroom with 72 sexually naive females, but I do know what hell is like and it has a phone and totally incompetent people being paid by the hour to help you as slowly as possible at the other end. For those wishing to hear my one-man-show for an hour, here it is.

3. Britain refuses to help immigrants adrift in the Mediterranean because it could encourage more to flee North Africa

(Could this be the first quasi sane thing out of the UK in a decade? Did someone put clonazepam in the water fountains at the British house of commons?)

4. Some Islamic State supporter in Huston has been plastering the city with stickers and doing propaganda for the IS and Islamic manifest destiny. Below one of his videos. More information in these links.

It is tempting to dismiss these people as idiots and inconsequential. Like as if they were barely a JV team sort of thing. But its wise not to.

5. 500 lashes for Saudi concert organiser

A Saudi man accused of organising a mixed-gender concert will spend two years in prison and be lashed 500 times at a girls’ college in front of its students.

The man was arrested by police at a rest house in the western Saudi town of Taif last week along with other men and college girls during a dancing party that violated the Gulf Kingdom’s strict rules against mixed-gender public gatherings.

  1. 3) Apparently you can always find tools of ignorance doing the exact opposite…

Italy ‘to continue migrant rescues in Mediterranean’ (BBC, Oct 28, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-29807759

“The Italian navy says it will continue search and rescue missions for migrants in the Mediterranean in parallel with an EU operation starting on Saturday.

The navy has been picking up migrants in an operation called Mare Nostrum off the Libyan coast for a year.

But this year has seen a surge of migrant boats heading for Europe and at least 3,000 migrants have drowned.

A new EU’s operation, Triton, will have only a third of Mare Nostrum’s budget, raising concern about future rescues.

Triton will focus on border control – tasks such as vetting asylum seekers once they are ashore, and coastal patrols – rather than search and rescue in international waters.

But Italy’s Admiral Filippo Foffi told the BBC that EU-Italian naval co-operation must continue in international waters.

There has been no order to stop Mare Nostrum yet, Adm Foffi said. However, Italian officials have made it clear that they intend to scale down their operation, as the EU’s Frontex border agency puts Triton into action.

Mare Nostrum was launched after hundreds of migrants drowned off the isle of Lampedusa, and was only intended to be a temporary mission…..”

  2. “… Britain refuses to help immigrants adrift in the Mediterranean because it could encourage more to flee North Africa….”

The hard truth is that people fleeing those countries are the very ones who should be staying there and working (sometimes fighting) for change. Instead they impose a huge burden on the countries they flee to. And run the risk of having the countries they leave become failed states which eventually , the West is expected to step in to save.

    Everyone loses.
