1. NYT: Doctor tests positive for Ebola virus in New York City.

A doctor in New York City who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea tested positive for the Ebola virus Thursday, becoming the city’s first diagnosed case. […] Even as the authorities worked to confirm that Mr. Spencer was infected with Ebola, it emerged that he traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley, and then took a taxi home.

4. Mali confirms first Ebola case

The Mali government has confirmed the first case of Ebola in the country.

It said a two-year-old girl had tested positive for the haemorrhagic virus. She recently returned from the neighbouring Guinea.

More than 4,800 people have died of Ebola – mainly in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone – since March.

5. Guantanamo Prisoners in Protest Over Women Guards

(I think this complaint would require a quantum violin. Anything else would be too large)

Some prisoners in the highest-security unit of the Guantanamo Bay detention center have launched a protest against what they consider the religiously offensive use of female guards to move them around the U.S. base in Cuba, lawyers for the men say.

Prisoners designated by the government as “high-value detainees” because of their allegedly significant involvement in terrorism recently began refusing to meet with defense lawyers appointed by the Pentagon to defend them against war crimes charges unless the military agrees to use only men to escort them to meetings, according to several lawyers involved.

Islamic State militants in Raqqa, Syria crucified a 17-year old boy they accused of taking pictures of the group’s military headquarters. Images of the three-day public execution in Raqqa’s central square appeared on the Twitter site of the secular Syrian activist group “Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.”

A note to all who help this site:

As you can read from the Agenda and Views of this site, the plan was to help wake Canadians and Western peoples up to the facts and nature of Islam in order to change a few simple attitudes and regulations that could solve the serious problems of a waning liberal democracy or republic based on Greek thought and individual liberty. Ideally, and had we acted soon enough, without much or even any bloodshed, at least on our own lands.

That ship has sailed.

We now have to re task ourselves to be frank. It will get much much worse before it gets better, So I want to thank you all for the help everyone has given the site and ask people, to quote Lady McBeth, “to screw their courage to the sticking place” and brace themselves for more vigilance and more work. For the moment, our effort will have to be to simply continue to gather evidence of what the nature of the threat is, and accurately predict what is coming our way so that sooner or later, the general public will have to defer to the authority of those who called it right. Hopefully before Western nations fall to a ‘Strong Man Strategy‘ like Greece and Hungary are now, and like Germany and Italy did so many decades ago.

So once again, thank you all for the hard work. I look forward to continuing to work with such a great bunch of dedicated people. I can’t think of a group I would want to be working  with more than all of you.

With certainty of values and clarity of the rightness of the cause,

  1. Hi,

I have a question which has been bothering me for quite a long time. I just wanna know how do you all dedicated people manage to do such a hard work for (I suppose) nothing. I guess you get no money at all for this, yet this seems to constitute the only driving force of your existence. Now back to common words: who cooks for you? who does the cleanup for you? who goes to the grocery, or the tax office, or the laundry for all of you, if you keep working non-stop in front of your PC on digging up always new stuff to post? Do you have any paying job at all?

I just don’t understand how all this works. It seems that people working for blogs live just from air and water, do not need to work for any remuneration whatsoever and have all time in the world to search for infos, videos, whatever… how lucky you all are, you know… no need to wake up at 6 a.m. and rush to work 8-10 hours a day, and after that arrive home exhausted. There are lots and lots of us who simply could not afford to spend so much time and energy for free. We need to earn our daily living amidst this ongoing financial crisis and the always present threat of being fired.

Just wanna understand this a little bit.

    • I am retired and living on a very fixed income is how I have the time. Why? Two reasons, back in 1966 I raised my hand and swore to protect the constitution, to be best of my knowledge no one has released me from that oath, 2: I love freedom and want to continue to enjoy the fruits of freedom.

  2. What a shallow presumption, that understanding Islam and the problems it poses to Western countries is ‘the only driving force’ in the lives of people who make time to do it.

If your question is at all serious, and I rather doubt it, you could try this: take an hour away from your evening TV viewing every other night and instead watch the Stephen Coughlin series on Youtube Vlad has linked to above, that begins with this talk:

Stephen Coughlin, Part 1: Lectures on National Security & Counterterror Analysis (Introduction)

Download a copy of the Koran and the manual of Islamic law called ‘Reliance of the Traveler’ so you can check the texts for yourself if you are averse to taking Coughlin’s word for things. The presentation is in 6 parts. When you reach the end, if you reach the end, congratulate yourself and go back to watching BBC or CNN or CBC or wherever it is you get your news from. If the news about Islam looks the same to you as it did before, your work is done.

    • I watch no TV. NEVER. And I take as a personal insult the assumption that I watch such craps. Have no time for that, but neither would I spend even a second with that. And I am not talking about Islam. I am just talking about TIME TO DEDICATE TO THIS ISSUE. It’s you who have to congratulate yourself for having time for it. We average citizens keep busy trying to somehow make a living. Good for you if you have it so easy.

BTW I know Islam, Shari’ah, the Hadiths, Da’Wa, and all the stuff. I had time to get aquainted with religions when I was a student. But now I am a grown-up who has to pay bills, do my job as best as I can, and also do millions of household and other issues which no one will do for me. But others seem to be much more lucky than me. Good for them.

      • You’re breaking my heart. Maybe you could throw it all over, find your way to Syria and join Islamic State, and get yourself some slaves to help with your ‘millions of household and other issues,’ of which it seems you do have quite a few.

    • It’s only you who are so hostile to outsiders asking what they don’t understand? Or is it a common trait among you?

  3. Tunisia forces storm ‘militant hideout’ killing six ( including 5 women )

Tunisian security forces have stormed a house in a Tunis suburb to end a stand-off with armed militants, killing six people, officials said.

One gunman and five women were killed in the raid on the house in the Oued Ellil area, officials said.

An interior ministry spokesman described all six as “terrorists”. A second gunman and a child were also said to be injured.

The authorities are on high alert, with parliamentary elections due on Sunday.

Security forces had surrounded the house, where they said at least two gunmen were hiding, since Thursday.

Interior ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali Aroui said on Friday: “Special forces approached the kitchen where the terrorists were hiding.

“The women came out of the kitchen firing.”

Earlier, negotiations had been held to try to enable women and children in the house to leave, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement.

One police officer was also killed on Thursday after the two sides exchanged fire.

The killing of five women and the wounding of a child will cast a shadow over Sunday’s parliamentary elections, BBC Arab Affairs Editor Sebastian Usher reports.

The authorities had warned of likely militant attacks ahead of the poll, our correspondent adds.

  4. Turkey: Riot police flood Istanbul University as students clash over IS

Riot police detained at least 17 students after bloody clashes broke out between pro-Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and anti-ISIL students at Istanbul University on Friday.

Riot police officers were deployed to the scene of the clashes at the university’s Faculty of Science. Several injuries were reported from the clashes. Violent clashes between pro and anti-ISIL students also occurred at the university on October 1, resulting in riot police and TOMA vehicles being deployed to the campus.

  5. EGYPT – SINAI – Huge blast rocks Egypt army checkpoint

President calls defence council meeting after at least 25 are killed and 26 injured in attack in northern Sinai.

At least 25 people have been killed in an attack on an army checkpoint in Egypt’s North Sinai, state media reported.

The attack on Friday afternoon hit an army checkpoint at Karm al-Qawadeis, southwest of Sheikh Zueid.

The AP news agency quoted unnamed security officials as saying that a suicide bomber was responsible, although unconfirmed reports said rockets and mortar bombs were also used.

State media reported that 26 people were wounded, several of whom were in critical condition.

Local media said that the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, had ordered a meeting of the government defence council following the blast.

The attack is one of the deadliest since Sisi overthrew Mohamed Morsi from the presidency and declared his Muslim Brotherhood movement an illegal terrorist organisation.
