The invasion and subversion continues: Evidence post 1 for Oct. 19 – 2014

1. Ottawa City Counsellor candidate promises sharia law.

(The temptation for reasonable folk is to dismiss this guy as a kook and an inconsistent one at that. He is neither or even if he is, several of his kind have actually been elected in Europe to various positions from municipal like tipis guy to federal. Remember the scandinavian muslim recently arrested who the Christian Broadcasting Network interviewed a couple of years ago who said something like: ‘Some of us believe in using democracy to destroy democracy and some of us believe in just going ahead and destroying it’. This is what it looks like in Ottawa at the moment)

2. German bikers join Dutch gangs in fight against Islamic State

german_fight_isis

Following in the tire tracks of its Dutch counterparts, a German motorcycle gang has made the trek to the Middle East to fight against fascist Islamic State militants.

The Cologne-based Median Empire Motorcycle Club posted Facebook images of its members in Kobane, Syria, carrying military-style weapons, according to the Daily Mail.

The gang members are also wearing their “colors,” leather vests featuring their foreboding logo. The image included the caption: “Our boys were in Kobane today and told me today they were shot at but nothing happened. They are okay.”

3. Neil Young says we should not fight the Islamic State because the CO2 produced by our weapons and vehicles are worse than the raping, slavery and beheadings and genocides of the Muslims of the Islamic State.

4. Fury from child sex abuse victims as Rotherham council boss gets £40,000 payoff

Shamed former Rotherham children’s services boss Joyce Thacker received a £40,000 payoff after quitting her £130,000-a-year post last month.

The details of the payoff, revealed after a Freedom of Information request, came as Mrs Thacker was singled out for criticism in a report published yesterday into the town’s child sex abuse scandal.

The Home Affairs Select Committee report said she ignored ‘numerous credible warnings’ about the scale of abuse, and called for an independent investigation.

5. Exactly how does a convoy like this manage to cross open desert into a city or town without the US, or even Canada, France or England for that matter, blowing it to Mohamed’s After Life bar and brothel? A cursory examination of the attacks on Belgrade and both previous Iraq wars show that there is not a single Picasso anywhere that the US military does not know exactly where it is hanging. They have to know where these colostomy bags are.

6. ISIS Panics Over Intelligence Leak, Cracks Down on ‘Informants’

Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists have showed incredible bravado, boasting to the Western world that they would “overcome” an international coalition and military campaign hours after airstrikes pummeled their Syrian stronghold.

But even ISIS became unnerved over the weekend, after multiple security breaches were shown to have revealed sensitive intelligence on the group to the international community.

Concerns over cyber-security are so high that ISIS released an Arabic-language publication to combat information theft.

“A number of security gaps have appeared that have benefited the enemy and have helped expose the identities of some brothers or identify some sites used by the  [jihadists – ed.] with ease,” it begins, according to a copy translated by the Financial Times.

7. There is an interesting discussion in the comments on yesterday’s posts about the state flag of Sardinia. Linked is the Wiki page and below, my favorite version of the flag. Apparently it is a reaction to Islamic horror as repelled by that state historically.

It seems not only England has the Cross of St. George on its flag.

8. Vile image of baby girl being ‘beheaded’ found by Kurds on phone taken from dead ISIS fanatics in Kobane

An horrific image has emerged of a baby girl moments from being beheaded by IS.

The picture is among several recovered by Kurdish soldiers from the mobile phones of dead fanatics in the Syrian town of Kobane.

It shows the child being pinned to the floor, in clear distress as a knife is held to her throat.

It is feared she may have been beheaded along with her family for being an Alevi Muslim, a branch of Islam whose followers have been targeted by IS.

Thank you Grace, M., Buck, Yucki, Richard and many more. Thank you. More to come.

  1. EBOLA
    Spanish nurse cleared of Ebola

Madrid (Spain) (AFP) – A Spanish health worker who was the first person to catch Ebola outside of Africa no longer has the virus, according to medical test results Sunday, the government said.

  2. I once read cut off negro heads/Moslem heads in French heraldry, means that members of noble families having such heads in their banner or coat of arms had taken part in some crusade. Possibly the last to Egypt.

    • No and while the current administration keeps appointing ignorant idiots to positions of power we never will be.

      • Yes, unlike the execution of Khalid Muhallal (Princess Misha’al’s boyfriend) whose head is said to have been hacked off in repeated blows by a relative using a short sword.

Here are some things about Saudi Arabia and Muslim Arab culture generally I thought ‘Death of a Princess’ got right (I imagine you found the sequences in war-torn Beirut annoying):

        * the look and feel of the execution. I don’t know that that’s exactly how it happened – I’ve read elsewhere she was stoned – but the after-prayer matter-of-factness of it, in an empty lot beside a hotel, is plausible. The actors in those scenes dress and act like Saudis.

*the Yorkshireman’s account of his work and life in the country

*the readiness of every Arab the journalist talks to to put his own spin on the event, spin it into his own narrative or conspiracy. The indifference to objective truth.

*the neurotic Western governess or nanny to the royal family romanticizing her great adventure (‘she was beautiful, like a wild animal!’) and milking it for all it’s worth.

*the Saudi interiors, the offices and the hotel rooms residences and furniture. Not exactly, but reasonably close.

*the decadence of the Saudi royals. Nothing surprises me there.

*the emptiness of the women’s lives and their boredom and how they fill the time.

*Saudi boys and girls finding ways to hook up. Of course this is what a lot of the hysteria around cell phones is about.

*the look and feel of immigration at the airport.

*the contrast between the manner of the girls’ school director under the eye of the religious watchdog in her office and when she is freer to speak in her home (though the handshake with the mother was unlikely).

*the ambiance of the formal family gathering.

*the extremes Muslim Arabs will go to where ‘honour’ is at stake.

Despite the vastly greater resources at a filmmaker’s disposal now, I suspect there would be less rather than more verisimilitude if the film were remade today.

  3. THREE IMPORTANT RIGHTS
    .
    .
Three Rights which, in my opinion, should be preserved:
    .
1 – The right to monoparenthood in traditionally monogamous societies: see the blog “The Origin Of Sex-Taboo“. [in English]
    .
2 – The right to veto who pays (the taxpayer) – Semi-Direct Democracy: see the blog “Fim-da-Cidadania-Infantil“. [in Portuguese]
    .
3 – The right to survival of indigenous identities: see the blog “50-SEPARATISM-50.” [in English]
    .
    .
    .
    P.S.
The separatists-50-50 doesn’t seek pretexts to deny the Right to survival of others one… the separatists-50-50 only claim the Right to survival of Indigenous Identities (read: the ‘globalization-lovers’ must respect the rights of others one… and vice versa!)

  4. 7/ One more appearance of the Sardinian 4 moors flag, at a festival with traditional dancing and some unusual vocals. Apologies to Vlad for linking to a documentary about the reprehensible Antonio Gramsci (‘best known for his theory of cultural hegemony, which describes how states use cultural institutions to maintain power in capitalist societies’). At 15:00.

    • About KSA – Is “WordPress” duplicating messages?

I’ll watch “Death of…” again, paying attention to your signposts, for which I’m very grateful. Home-schooling is best!

It’s rare to see interior settings from that part of the world. For that matter, I haven’t read much in the way of fictional interior monologues either. Do you have any suggestions?

        • Good for Omaima trying to have a blog. It takes a bit of courage in Saudi Arabia merely to draw attention to oneself requesting that a site like that be unblocked.

      • I’ll ask around about fiction. I know there have been a couple of novels or secret-lives-of-Saudi-women sort of things but I haven’t looked at any of them. The country is so awful, you know? I know more about the geology of Saudi Arabia than I do about the culture. The geology is great.

        • Many children born with congenital defects, covered up. Huge number of women taking antidepressants.

          That’s all I know.

        • On watching it again I see why I was irritated.
I became the narrator and ended up just as frustrated as he was. Which is saying quite a lot for such a movie.

They’re all spinning their own webs, serial traps for anyone who tries to understand that hell-on-earth.

Beirut was heavy going, but it was of a piece. It’s all so alien and sinister, it’s a wonder we mate as a species and produce fully human offspring.

  5. 1/ From his ‘Platform’ –

‘when Omar Khadr was extradited to a Canadian facility, as I had debated in class, I felt I had accomplished his release.’

How does a guy like this even get a job flipping burgers in the capital? What is he doing there at all? Good grief.
