More curiosities from the Orient: Links 1 for Sept. 19 – 2014

1. Two Afghan police, you know the guys who occasionally up and shoot a bunch of Canadian and American personnel who were in Afghanistan to help build girls schools and hospitals, are now missing in DC.

2. Robert Spencer is interviewed on Rick Amato’s show. While most of us will have heard much of these ideas before, I find with each new context and framing of some of the ideas Robert speaks on, it can stimulate new ideas and better understanding. Its quite good.

3. Ebola outbreak: Guinea health team killed

(Suggesting once again that multiculturalism and political correctness will be what spreads this disease. Notice the group was attacked and stoned to death because the culture of the attackers was not rooted in Greek thought. They believed that the threat from the disease could be dealt with by murdering the people there to help and educate the public much as many many Africans believe that AIDS can be cured by having sex with a virgin, a blonde, or a small boy. This of course, is exactly how the disease does spread. And it presents us with a specific dilemma. Do we go smash the culture and belief systems of these people in order to save their lives? Or do we respect their beliefs for reasons which, frankly still escape me outside of the usual Frankfurt School motives. If we wish to stop the spread of this disease, at least to us, we are going to have to employ measures which work. This means enforcing our world view on them, by military means or otherwise. That, is all there is to it.)

Eight members of a team trying to raise awareness about Ebola have been killed by villagers using machetes and clubs in Guinea, officials say.

Some of the bodies – of health workers, local officials and journalists – were found in a septic tank in a village school near the city of Nzerekore.

Correspondents say many villagers are suspicious of official attempts to combat the disease.

More than 2,600 people have now died from the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. […]

On Thursday night, government spokesman Albert Damantang Camara said the victims had been “killed in cold blood by the villagers”.

The bodies showed signs of being attacked with machetes and clubs, officials say.

Six people have been arrested and the village is now reportedly deserted.

4. Iraq bombings kill at least 22

(For quite a while I didn’t put posts about bombs in Iraq as it didn’t seem any more newsworthy than say, ‘Chickens seem nervous around KFC’. But now. as the bombing is likely an attack from the Islamic State, and the targets are more and more important it seems important to post that news again. Wrath of Khan has been very good about keeping updates at the site about specific attacks within Iraq for the past year or so. Always worth checking the comments for his posts as well as M’s)

Bombings in and near the Iraqi capital and a blast in the northern city of Kirkuk have killed at least 22 people.

The attacks come as security forces and allied Shi’ite militiamen and Sunni tribesmen fight to regain ground from militants led by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group who overran swathes of the country in June.

In Baghdad, a car bomb exploded in the Shi’ite-majority Karrada district on Friday, killing at least eight people and wounding more than 20, while a roadside bomb in the Bayaa area killed four and wounded at least 11.

South of the capital, another car bomb near a market in Mahmudiyah killed at least two people and wounded seven, while a motorcycle bomb in central Kirkuk in the country’s north killed eight and wounded 13.

  1. #1 Incidents like this show why we need to keep close watch on all of the people from Islamic nations we bring over for training.

The left claims to be so compassionate yet are willing to let this mess grow into a pandemic that will threaten to and possible actually kill a very large percentage of the black population of Africa. The will do this in the name of cultural diversity but since the results of this action are racist isn’t the entire policy racist.

  2. Q: Do we go smash the culture and belief systems of these people in order to save their lives? Or do we…

A: Smash everything that doesn’t have a pulse.
