The trip, which would have injected hundreds of thousands of pounds into Glasgow, and the Scottish economy, was a reward to 600 salesmen and women, and their spouses.

The Vice-President of one of the leading special event companies in the US has told the council that the planned six-day trip is off.

The company is one of the Fortune group whose members are the top 500 worldwide corporations, including WalMart, Royal Dutch Shell, ExxonMobil, Volkswagen and Coca Cola.

But, after reading about Glasgow’s decision to fly the Palestinian flag over the City Chambers to show solidarity with Gaza,…

The men then drove the vehicle away with the driver and the two other Saudis inside. No shots were fired but the Saudis were later freed. The vehicle was eventually found abandoned and another of the gang’s cars was found burned out.

“In the vehicle there was roughly 250,000 euros in cash and official documents from the embassy,” police union spokesman Rocco Contento told BFM TV news.

6. Remember this fine Australian citizen from the TV show we posted an excerpt of the other day?

He has been arrested:

teenage supporter of the terrorist group Islamic State, who gained notoriety after an appearance on television last week, has been arrested over a religious attack on a cleaner at a western Sydney shopping centre.

In an incident that will raise fears of growing violence in Australia, the 19-year-old, who goes by the Islamic alias Abu Bakr, allegedly verbally abused, threatened and intimidated a 43-year-old cleaner at the Bankstown Central shopping centre on August 10.

He was kicked out of the centre by security but allegedly returned an hour-and-a-half later and abused the man again, who was still cleaning

  1. #1 Good on whatever US corporation it was that cancelled the trip to Scotland. For years and years there have been no consequences for actions such as this. Are their muslim populations so intimidating that they have to fly a Hamas flag over a gov’t office to appease the monsters (akin to a white flag of surrender if you ask me.)
#6 Abu Bakr was just bringing “justice” to the mall cleaner… I’m amazed he didn’t beat him to death; justice the ISIL way.

  2. Palestinian statehood? I always say, they already have one. It’s called Jordan. Here’s an update:
Why Jordan Doesn’t Want More Palestinians

By mistreating the Palestinians and depriving them of their basic rights, Jordan and other Arab countries are driving them into the open arms of extremists, especially Islamist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Jordan, Lebanon and Syria can continue their practices against Palestinians without having to worry about the responses of the international community or the media. No one is going to take to the streets of European and American cities to condemn Arabs for mistreating Arabs.

(But they’ll pay in the end. Big time.)

    • The IS is partially because of the way the other nations treated the so called refugees, this lead to a massive upswing in religious fervor.

      • Arab tribal code still fully functional, despite Sykes-Picot. If they’re cousins, not brothers, they go to refugee camps. Not exactly Rudolph Valentino or Lawrence of Arabia.

  4. USA: Israel slams UN for Hamas-influenced Gaza stats

    SCRIPT

Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, Ron Prosor, questioned the credibility of the UN’s sources for statistics from Gaza during a press briefing at the UN’s New York Headquarters on Monday.

While Prosor initially agreed with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Robert Serry’s statement that more homes and hospitals are needed in Gaza, Prosor also claimed that the UN sourced its “disproportionate” casualty figures directly from Hamas. Serry responded saying that his figures came from United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which bases its results on statistics from the Palestinian health authorities.

The comments followed the UN Special Coordinator Robert Serry’s statement supporting an extension to the ceasefire between Israel and Palestine earlier on Monday.

  7. SAUDI ARABIA – Saudi top cleric blasts Qaeda, IS as ‘enemy No 1’ of Islam

Riyadh (AFP) – Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh on Tuesday blasted Al-Qaeda and Islamic State jihadists as “enemy number one” of Islam, in a statement issued in Riyadh.

“The ideas of extremism, radicalism and terrorism… have nothing to do with Islam and (their proponents) are the enemy number one of Islam,” the kingdom’s top cleric said.

He cited jihadists from the Islamic State, which has declared a “caliphate” straddling large parts of Iraq and Syria, and the global Al-Qaeda terror network.

“Muslims are the main victims of this extremism, as shown by crimes committed by the so-called Islamic State, Al-Qaeda and groups linked to them,” the mufti said, quoting a verse in the Koran urging the “killing” of people who do deeds harmful to Islam.

[…]”In the circumstances the Islamic nation is living through, several countries have been destabilised” by extremists, who “divide Muslims” in the name of religion, the mufti said.

He warned: “In Islam, after heresy, dividing Muslims is the greatest crime.”

The mufti urged “tolerance, which was at the origin of Islam’s growth and longevity.” 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

King Abdullah vowed on June 29: “We will not allow a handful of terrorists, using Islam for personal aims, to terrify Muslims or undermine our country and its inhabitants.”

  8. Netanyahu Pulls Israeli Delegation from Cairo Talks

Israeli diplomatic sources on Tuesday revealed that following this afternoon’s breach of the ceasefire by Gaza terrorists, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon have recalled the Israeli delegation from Cairo truce talks.

Three rockets were fired at Be’er Sheva just before 4 p.m., with two of them hitting near the southern capital and the third near Netivot. All three struck open ground, causing no damage or injuries.

Netanyahu and Ya’alon ordered the IDF to conduct retaliatory airstrikes following the breach, a counter-strike that was carried out within minutes of the attack, hitting several terror targets in the Hamas enclave of Gaza.

Talks in Cairo have been faltering, as the current ceasefire extension was set to expire Tuesday night at midnight.

  12. CANADA – Doctor, Canadian Idol contestant not guilty on terrorism charge

OTTAWA Khurram Syed Sher, a doctor who once sang on the Canadian Idol TV show, has been found not guilty of conspiring to facilitate terrorism — the first acquittal at trial of someone charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The doctor of pathology from London, Ont., was charged along with two other men in August 2010. Sher had pleaded not guilty.

In his decision, Superior Court Justice Charles Hackland said that while Sher probably harboured some jihadist sympathies, he was not convinced the doctor genuinely intended to join a conspiracy.

As a result, the Crown had not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, Hackland said.
During the trial, the Crown said Sher, 32, had joined a homegrown group dedicated to supporting “violent jihad” by whatever means possible.

Federal lawyers said Sher agreed with two others to raise money, send cash abroad, take paramilitary training, make and use explosives, and scout targets in Canada.

However, Hackland clearly wasn’t sufficiently convinced of Sher’s intentions to register a conviction, Crown prosecutor Jason Wakely said outside the courtroom after the ruling came down.

“He was left in reasonable doubt about whether (Sher) intended to join the terrorist group, and that is the crime — to have a sincere intention to join a terrorist group,” said Wakely, who called the decision “a disappointing result.”

“We’re going to review the reasons, which were lengthy and well-considered, and we’ll determine whether or not there are any grounds for appeal.”

Wakely said Sher’s acquittal marks the first time someone has been found not guilty after going to trial on charges laid under the Anti-Terrorism Act, which was introduced in 2001 in the wake of the U.S. terror attacks on Sept. 11.

CBC – Khurram Sher not guilty in al-Qaeda-linked terror trial

While delivering his decision, Justice Charles Hackland called Sher “naive” and “immature,” but said he has an “impressive professional and academic record.”

Hackland told court the crucial meeting between the three people accused in the case produced no plan of action or timeline, and that there were no further actions by Sher after the meeting.

Hackland also said the evidence showed Sher was sympathetic to jihad.
