You know, a few years ago the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt had everything they’d ever dreamed of, but they fumbled the ball and lost it all within one year of hitting pay-dirt. I think ISIS is going to suffer the same fate when enough Arabs get mad enough to hit the streets and literally tear these guys limb from limb. I don’t think anybody is going to be able to stand living under Mr. Baghdadi’s miserable thumb for long.
You just can’t have Jihadis running things in the real world, and if Egypt is any indication, that is a sentiment shared by a majority of Arabs. Jihadis are too crazy and they make life unbearable… Do they actually think they’re going to fly over in their tan Toyotas and conquer the Western World and then they’ll all be rich? Do they really think that is a prudent course of action? Would the Muslim Brotherhood have torn down the pyramids if left to their own devices? Are the folks now living in the new Islamic State OK with the idea of being the center of the bullseye in a direct shooting war with the combined military powers of the world? Personally, that would make me nervous…

He is right in that in the long run the Jihadis will lose but in the short and intermediate run they will do a lot of damage, possibly enough damage to cause civilization to fall. Remember to a very large extent it was the Moslem conquest (among other things) that caused the last Dark Age. Part of the problem in the last Dark Age was that Justinian Byzantine Emperor bankrupted Byzantium to reunite the Roman Empire and about 150 to 200 years later when Mohammad started his conquest they were still limping from the massive debt they owed.
ISI has made gains because the central government in Iraq has collapsed. When ISIS is confronted properly, they will vanish like a mist when the sun comes out.
Most of them will run back to France, England etc as soon as they can get a ticket out.
