Islam, the caliphate and Western reactions to it Links post 4 for July 21 – 2014

1. Geert Wilders and the Netherlands actually have the policy about jihadis leaving for Syria or the Islamic State correct.

(It is critically important that we do not create a fascist state to try and fight islamic supremacism. The right of exit is one of the most important benchmarks of a free state. People should be able to leave for any reason whatsoever. But letting people in should be reserved for the friends to the nation)

2. UN ambulance transporting Hamas fighters

3. The National Post has seen fit to close the comments on their post about a family thinking on murdering their own 10 year old daughter because she was raped by the local imam. But someone managed to start a thread on it here anyway.

Also on the Sun article about the paint job at the Thornhill Beachhead, comments are also not allowed.

4. A city in Ontario Canada seeks to impose censorship on the pro-life movement by banning images of fetuses.

(Imagine, as the girls point out, that all kinds of human rights groups had been forbidden from using actual images of what was at the center of their issues. Slavery, the Holocaust etc.)

5. Ezra Levant covers the anti-Israel protests throughout Canada but especially in Calgary which has a Muslim mayor.

The above video is quite worth the time to watch.

Thank you M, Diana West, Grace, GoV and all who sent in material.

  1. Kabul airport bomb kills ‘foreigners’ (BBC, July 22, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-28415447

“A suicide bomb outside Kabul airport has killed at least four people, three of them reportedly foreigners, officials say. The nationalities of the foreigners, described as “advisers”, are not known so far.

The Taliban said they carried out this attack, Reuters news agency reports. Kabul airport is used by both civilians and the military, and this comes days after Afghan forces repelled an audacious attack on the airport.

Heavily armed militants attacked the airport with grenades and automatic weapons. Four insurgents were left dead and one security official wounded.

The attacks come against the backdrop of a hotly-disputed election process….”

  2. 5/ Great show. Canada would be a much-diminished country without Ezra Levant. Shame on the lying Calgary police derelict in their duty, shame on the traitorous vote-whoring dirtbag ‘peaceful Ismaili’ Muslim Mayor Nenshi, shame on the City of Calgary and shame on the Government of Canada for allowing this filthy cowardly violent Muslim scum into the country.

90% of the million Muslim immigrants to Canada are ‘regular folk,’ says Ezra, trying to be fair. But of course they are regular Muslim folk, not at all the same thing. Push having come to shove already, it’s obvious whose side they are on.

Vlad, here is the physical counterpart of your tragedy of the intellectual commons. As Ezra shows, it has been established, by the Calgary police no less – ‘balancing between victims and victimizers’ – that Canadians who stand up for Israel should expect a beating.

  3. If you believe in Allah, to any degree whatsoever, then you are left with the inescapable fact that it is absolutely forbidden to take the side of an Infidel against a fellow Muslim – especially when that Infidel is a hated Jew. That Ismaili mayor refused to send in the Police because he didn’t want to have that crime against Allah on his record come Judgement Day. He was afraid he would be tortured in Hell for eternity if he sent in the Police and took the side of an Infidel against a Muslim, because that is exactly what it says will happen in the Quran – and Allah wrote the Quran. At the end of the day, no matter how cool Ismailis are supposed to be, the Holy Quran still says what the Holy Quran says…

All Muslims should take a good hard critical look at their “Prophet” and ask themselves what kind of person would worship such an evil, dishonorable man. Then they should do the right and honorable thing, and quit Islam immediately.

  4. Saudi education system should go ‘glocal’

Saudi Arabia could inspire a renaissance in education here and abroad by creating a curriculum that combines the basic tenets of Islam with modern teaching methods and knowledge, according to a local educationist.

Faiza Abdul Qayyum, who has a Ph.D. in innovative education from Washington International University, said this could transform the Islamic world and give students a real “glocal” perspective on the world. This means having a view that covers modern education developments but is grounded in local Islamic traditions and values, she said.
Faiza, who is a curriculum developer and accreditation specialist, said that in the US there are different standards and benchmarks to determine literacy.
“Saudi standards ought to integrate the Islamic perspective, so that these benchmarks become not only common core standards for Saudi schools but also for the millions of schools around the world that want Islamic and modern education for their citizens.”
Different schools in Saudi Arabia can follow the curriculum of any American state, for instance, California State, Florida State or New York State boards. However, these standards should be used as yardsticks with the Saudi Education Ministry developing them into standardized literacy benchmarks that all national and international schools in the Kingdom could use.
“When students study the Renaissance in history, they should also be taught about how the Qur’an brought about the true renaissance in the modern history of mankind.” 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
“When students learn about how Lincoln abolished slavery in the US, they will also get to know how our Last Prophet, peace be upon him, brought the concepts of slavery, class and creed to an end. Similarly, in business studies, they can be taught how micro banking is a boon to the economy and how Islamic banking and zakat can eradicate poverty completely.”
When students learn about the role of women, their leadership and right to vote in modern history, they should also be aware of how our Mother of Believers depicted a true Muslim woman’s demeanor, she said.
A Muslim student is already a global citizen in the sense that he or she acts for social good following the tenets of Islam, she said. “The meaning of Islam is peace so as Muslims we should spread peace and knowledge to all.”
“I have a dream that such a balanced education system is adopted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in future,” she said.
Faiza said she developed a modern syllabus with an Islamic perspective as president of her previous school’s curriculum committee. “I believe in creating a customized core curriculum with a basic syllabus concentrating on American/British benchmarks integrated with Islamic concepts, in addition to extramural studies.”
“When I developed the set of courses for my schools I customized it bearing in mind the careers, national and international scenario for both boys and girls. For instance, I had strongly suggested interior design and home economics for girls and business, mathematics and world history for boys; and information communication technology, English and foreign language proficiency for both at middle and high school levels.”

  5. CBC – Edmonton developing a taste for halal meat

Halal butchers and grocery stores in Edmonton are seeing a surge of popularity — a sign of both a growing Muslim population in the province and a steady trend of non-Muslims seeking out the specially-prepared meat.

[…]Marina Mediuk has been buying halal meat for 15 years. She thinks the restrictions make the meat healthier and more humane than non-halal meat. “To me that’s also the more personal approach to slaughtering the cow, to having your meat and it’s all local. At the big butcher plants it’s done differently,” she said.

“We know that the chickens are fresh and the meat is fresh. And when you say your prayers it doesn’t really matter what religion you are — whether you’re Muslim or not — you take care of it. You are more spiritual about it.”

  6. Muslim Groups To Release Video Of Reported Brooklyn Mosque Harassment

Muslim groups will gather at a Brooklyn mosque where they claim worshipers are being harassed.

Witnesses said that on Sunday morning several men in a car circled the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, waving Israeli flags and yelling slurs, CBS 2 reported.

The New York Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said it will release video of the incident during a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

  7. Hamas Wore IDF Uniforms in Latest Infiltration Attempt

The IDF’s initial investigation regarding Hamas’s latest infiltration attempt from Gaza proved shocking Monday, after it revealed that Hamas has been blending into the Israeli side of the border – by replacing their clothing with replicas of IDF uniforms.

The terrorists who attempted to infiltrate an Israeli kibbutz earlier Monday changed their headgear for IDF helmets, according to the report, as well as other similar-looking gear.

As a result, it said, forces on the ground did not recognize for several minutes that the “unit” within sight was actually a terror cell.

The revelation was only uncovered after a commanding officer asked his unit at the scene to identify the other unit, and a second glimpse revealed that they were carrying Kalashnikov assault rifles instead of IDF-issued guns.

The terrorists then opened heavy fire at the IDF soldiers, who eliminated nine terrorists; the remainder fled, likely back to Gaza.

Southern Command Leader, Sammy Tourjeman said during an afternoon press conference that the tunnels are a tangible threat.

“Just today we experienced this threat, when dozens of terrorists wearing military uniforms emerged from a tunnel,” he noted.

He added that the struggle could extend for some time.

“This is no Iron Dome,” he said, “but a Sisyphean task, gathering technology and intelligence along with forces on the ground.”
