“Fighting has broken out between rival militias near the international airport in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. Anti-Islamist rebels from the Zintan region who control the airport have been attacked by a rival group trying to take over the area.

Flights to and from the airport have been suspended amid reports of heavy explosions and gunfire. Zintan fighters have been resisting Islamist attempts to grab power since the ousting of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.

They took control of the airport and surrounding areas, 30km (18 miles) south of Tripoli, shortly after the colonel’s 42-year-rule came to an end. It is not clear who the attacking rebels are, but Libyan media report they call themselves the Stability and Security Force….”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/nato-troops-wounded-afghan-suicide-attack-24539465

“Insurgent attacks across Afghanistan have killed 11 Afghan security force members, authorities said Sunday, as a suicide car bomb attack wounded three NATO troops.

The deadliest attacks happened overnight in Afghanistan’s eastern Laghman province, when insurgents raided Afghan police and army checkpoints in Aliangar district, said Sarhadi Zwak spokesman for the provincial governor. Zwak said the dead from the assault included six police officers and one soldier, while security forces killed 15 insurgents.

In the western province of Herat, insurgents attacked a police checkpoint early Sunday morning, killing one police officer, said Raouf Ahmadi, a spokesman for the provincial police chief. He said officers killed four insurgents in the assault in Shindand district.

An attack late Friday on another checkpoint in the district killed three police officers, he said.

Meanwhile in eastern Nangarhar province, authorities say a suicide car bomber wounded three NATO troops in an attack Saturday night in the province’s Behsud district. NATO said the attacker was killed and there were no other fatalities.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The violence comes during the Taliban’s annual spring offensive. They are trying to undermine the Western-backed government as foreign combat troops prepare to withdraw by the end of the year.”

  7. Over at WeaselZippers, a commenter posted a few paragraphs to a story (sans link) suggesting a formal agreement was reached between nations regarding this sudden migration to the US. This is the closest I could come up with for the actual story as presented from a conservative perspective . . .Act of War on America – Mexico and Guatemala Sign Agreement to Fast-Track Invasion of U.S.

Further searching provided this link to a story from a Mexican source (report in Spanish and English)

El Universal: International crossings were ordered to increase the development

El Universal includes a video report by Natalia Gomez with edited segments of a taped interview of the ex-Prime Minister of Greece, Georgios A. Papandreou.

According to Wiki, Papandreou was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and was educated in both US and Canada and states:

In December 2003 European Voice shortlisted him for nomination of the Europeans of the Year award as “Diplomat of the Year”,[5][6] naming him as “The Bridge-Builder” and quoting Le Monde that dubbed him the “architect of Greek-Turkish rapprochement”.[7]

In January 2006, Papandreou was unanimously elected President of the Socialist International.
Transcript of the edited video interview:

It is absolutely necessary to sit down and cooperate and compromise to see how we can deal with the root causes but also how we can help these people because they are human beings.

This is where we need to appeal to the United States that the question of migrants, for example, the question of child migrants should not become a football, a polarized game between the two parts.

    [break]****Natalia Gomez reports in Spanish

Pressures of people wanting to find freedom, jobs, security. One of the big issues of our times is the huge inequality. We have a huge concentration of wealth in the hands of a few people.

Just to say that one percent of the total population controls fifty percent of the global wealth is just one.

The sense that people want to find a better life.

I think that we need to appeal to the United States to look at this in a humane way and to – not to – push for repatration but reunification with the families is the basic goal.

We do need to respect borders. Borders are there to protect human beings, not to exclude human beings. So, yes, we do need to respect borders. We need to control borders. We need to control. But at the same time we also need to realize that we need to deal with the real problem of these people. They have a problem.

One suggestion is that work together in the region through cooperation. Not through blame. Not through creating new walls – people will find ways to move around it or create more suffering. We have to work together.

    [break]*****Natalia Gomez reports in Spanish

We have to work together so we can have a comprehensive policy to begin addressing the root problem, the transit and also the integration , the systematic integration of migrants into our societies in a positive way.

The money that goes to building walls on borders is huge. Rather than doing that, lets invest that in development, in aid, to find jobs, to help the social situation of the migrants.

  8. Mexico and the nations further south are using the illegal immigration as a safety valve, the encourage their poor to head to the US to relieve the financial border on their 0wn social welfare system.

      • Yup, but the blacks in the big cities where the illegal aliens are being shipped to are screaming that the new “Trophy Wife” of the left is taking all of the money.
