  1. Paris.Muslims don’t want the west interfering in muslim lands ,but want the west to interfere in supposed muslim lands in order for them to gain land that muslims can then strike out from to attack the west!

Australia’s ridiculous jihadi element continue to entertain.

One of them, disability pensioner and now suspected war criminal Khaled Sharrouf, is alleged to have collected pension payments even after leaving Australia for the killing fields of Syria and Iraq. The only surprise here is that the payments were eventually stopped, presumably after a sharp-eyed bureaucrat discovered that Sharrouf had found gainful employment shooting his fellow Muslims.

  4. Kenya travel warning extended by Foreign Office (BBC, July 12, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-28278024

“The Foreign Office has warned Britons to avoid travelling to areas of the Kenyan coast, after attacks by militants left at least 87 people dead.

The advice warns against all but “essential” travel to the coastal counties of Lamu and Tana River.

Warnings also remain in place for areas around the Kenya-Somali border, as well as parts of the capital, Nairobi.

Meanwhile, the Kenyan government has advised its citizens not to travel through London Heathrow airport.

In a statement from the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it warned Kenyans not to travel through Heathrow due to the “substantial threat of a possible attack” by Al Qaeda operatives….”

Iran nuclear talks: Envoys warn of big hurdles to deal (BBC, July 13, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-28282043

“Key players in talks on Iran’s nuclear programme have warned of big gaps between Iran and world powers, with only a week left to strike a deal. Arriving in Vienna for the talks, US Secretary of State John Kerry said “significant differences” remain – a view echoed by France and the UK. An Iranian envoy also said it was not clear if major gaps could be bridged.

The talks seek to persuade Iran to limit its nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. Discussions on Sunday have been inconclusive.

“We haven’t made the decisive breakthrough,” said the UK’s Foreign Secretary, William Hague. “There are very significant gaps.”

There is growing speculation that the 20 July deadline for an agreement will need to be extended.

An interim deal was reached last year. However, the parties have been unable to reach agreement on imposing long-term restrictions over Iran’s uranium enrichment and plutonium production – processes that could yield material for nuclear warheads…”

  6. Cypriots File War Crimes Complaint Against Turkey (abcnews, July 14, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/cypriots-file-war-crimes-complaint-turkey-24547563

“A group of Cypriots has filed a war crimes complaint against Turkey at the International Criminal Court over what they say is its policy of settling Cyprus’ breakaway north with mainland Turks.

Cyprus split into a Turkish-speaking north and an internationally recognized Greek-speaking south in 1974 when Turkey invaded after a coup that aimed to unite the island with Greece. A Turkish Cypriot declaration of independence is recognized only by Turkey, which maintains 35,000 troops there.

Cypriot European Parliament member Costas Mavrides, who filed the complaint on the group’s behalf, said Monday that settlement activity contravenes international law and has significantly altered the demographics of northern Cyprus.

An Israeli-based rights organization, the Shurat HaDin Law Center, helped the group, which calls itself Cypriots Against Turkish War Crimes, draft the complaint.”

Scotland Yard to Hire Londoners Only (abcnews, July 14, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/scotland-yard-hire-londoners-24547374

“London’s Metropolitan Police have announced a new policy of hiring only Londoners in a bid to make the police force more representative of the population it serves.

Mayor Boris Johnson said Monday the change would allow the city to “achieve our goals more quickly.”

Beginning on Aug. 1, only candidates who have lived three of the past six years in greater London will be able to apply for entry-level police positions with the force that is also known as Scotland Yard.

Officials say the goal is to have a police force with the “cultural competencies” needed in a global city with a varied population. Some 5,000 police constables will be recruited in the rest of 2014 and 2015.”

  8. Extremists Bomb Nigeria Bridge, Limit Base Access (abcnews, July 14, 2014)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/boko-haram-leader-demands-fighters-swap-girls-24547373

“Suspected Islamic extremists bombed a major bridge on a northeast Nigerian highway, further limiting access to base camps in the Sambisa Forest where scores of kidnapped girls are believed to be held captive, witnesses and the leader of a group fighting Boko Haram said Monday.

Gunmen destroyed most of the bridge on the road between Maiduguri and Biu on Saturday night, the spokesman for the Nigerian Vigilante Group, Abbas Gava, told The Associated Press.

“The bridge has now collapsed and it is impossible for vehicles to cross over the bridge from either side,” he said. It is the fourth major bridge destroyed in the area in recent months.

The reports come as a new video shows Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau crowing over recent victories including two explosions at a fuel depot in Lagos that the government tried to cover up.

It would be the first reported bombing by Boko Haram in Lagos — Nigeria’s commercial capital, an Atlantic port and probably the continent’s most populous city with some 20 million people. At least four people died in the June 25 blasts, including an alleged female suicide bomber, according to Western diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue….”

  9. Malaysian police officer killed, another kidnapped at Borneo resort (CNN, July 14, 2014)
    http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/14/world/asia/malaysia-police-kidnapped/index.html

“Armed men fatally shot a Malaysian police officer and abducted another at a diving resort on the island of Borneo, according to Malaysian authorities.

A group of eight gunmen dressed in army fatigues stormed the Mabul Water Bungalow Resort off the eastern coast of Sabah on Saturday evening and fired on marine police officers guarding the complex, said Eastern Sabah Security Command director Abdul Rashid Harun.

The masked attackers fled by boat with one of the police officers, 26-year-old Constable Zakiah Aliep, after a gunfight that killed another, Corporal Abdul Rajah Jamuan, 32.

The two policemen were stationed at the resort following a series of kidnappings which began in Sabah last year.

Harun said it was unclear who was responsible for the attack, but the vessel was seen traveling toward the southern Philippines, which is a notorious safe haven for Filipino separatists….”

  10. UK – Britain First ‘invade’ Crayford mosque demanding removal of ‘sexist’ signs

Britain First activists marched into the North West Kent Muslim Association mosque in the High Street at around 1.45pm yesterday.

Led by former Swanley BNP councillor Paul Golding, they confronted members of the mosque over the building’s separate entrances for men and women.

A statement on the group’s website under the headline “Britain First Activists invade Crayford mosque”, said: “Islam treats and views women as second class citizens.

“Britain First Kent battalion activists entered the big mosque in Crayford to inform the Imams that they have exactly seven days to remove sexist signs from outside their building, or we will.

  11. 16 dead in Hezbollah-Syria rebels battle on Lebanon border

At least 16 fighters were killed in clashes between Syrian rebels and Lebanon’s Shiite militant group Hezbollah on the Lebanese border over the weekend, a monitoring group said Monday.

“Seven members of Hezbollah were killed and 31 wounded” in the clashes which raged from Saturday until Sunday night, said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

He told AFP that the Syrian rebels lost nine fighters and 23 of them were wounded in the battle waged in an undemarcated area of the border between Qalamun in Syria and Lebanon’s Arsal.

Hezbollah initiated the showdown in a bid to rid the region of rebel fighters following a string of daily clashes, said Abdel Rahman.

“But they fell into an ambush by rebels … before Hezbollah reinforcements arrived and the fighting intensified,” he said, adding that the Shiite group captured 11 rebels.

On Sunday, a Hezbollah source and a Lebanese security official gave a preliminary toll of three Hezbollah fighters and three Syrian rebels killed.

  13. SAUDI ARABIA – MECCA – 4,000 loud speakers to project Grand Mosque sermons 9km

About 4,000 loud speakers have been installed around the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Islam’s holiest site, in what authorities say will enable the call to prayer to be heard 9 kilometres away.

Saudi Arabia is undergoing a $2bn renovation and extension of the mosque so it can accommodate 1 million pilgrims at any one time.

“A technical committee has chosen only the most advanced brands and models after examining the most effective sound systems worldwide,” he said, according to local media.

“Thanks to this premium quality speakers, prayers will be heard up to 9,000 meters away, from Gaza Street to Ibrahim Khalil Street.

“The outside speakers are wind-proof, meaning sound will remain crystal clear even in rough weather. This is a very complex technical accomplishment.

“Special poles have been set up on several roads around the area and south of the mosque as well.”

The infamous loudspeakers on the top of the Makkah Clock Tower will be audible up to 7km away, while green and white lights used to indicate the five daily pray times also will be visible from 30km away to aid those with hearing difficulties.
