2. ISIS/ISIL already in Gaza

Despite denials by Hamas, there is growing evidence that the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria [ISIS] — also known as “The Islamic State” — has begun operating in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian Authority [PA] and Israeli security sources are convinced that followers of ISIS in the Gaza Strip are responsible for some of the recent rocket attacks on Israel.

Hamas, they say, seems to be losing control over the dozens of terror cells belonging to ISIS and other jihadi groups.

(Why is it Obama only ever calls for restraint when Israel needs to retaliate? Its quite consistent I find _ CORRECTION: To my surprise, Obama actually did say something about rockets fired on Israel)

3. Social media is all abuzz with fake or old or Iraqi pictures claiming to be of Israeli strikes on Gaza

5. Japan upset as Chinese paper prints mushroom clouds on map

(I think I speak for most people when I say that it is understandable to be upset when a constant enemy of your people publish maps of your country with mushroom clouds over it when it is the only country so far to have actually had 2 nuclear bombs detonated on it)

8. BREAKING: Israel Army Authorized to Mobilize 40,000 Troops

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli government has given the military permission to mobilize up to 40,000 additional reservists as it steps up an offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Tuesday’s decision came hours after Israel launched an offensive aimed at stopping weeks of heavy rocket fire out of Gaza.

  1. Omar Khadr should have been serving youth sentence, will be transferred to provincial jail, court rules

    […]The commission made no distinction between youth and adult punishment or between consecutive and concurrent sentences when it handed him the eight-year term. When he was transferred to Canada in 2012, corrections authorities took him into adult custody.

    Khadr’s lawyers argued that the eight-year term for crimes that included murder only made sense as a youth sentence and, although he’s now too old to be in a youth facility, Khadr should at least be moved to a provincial jail.

    […]Khadr’s lawyer, Dennis Edney, said he’s pleased the Appeal Court’s decision gets his client out of “the hands of the Harper government.”

    In a statement he said, the federal government would “rather pander to politics than to apply the rule of law fairly to each and every Canadian citizen.”

    “This government chose to misinterpret the International Transfer of Offenders Act and place Omar in a maximum security prison, where he spent the first seven months in solitary confinement, instead treating him as a youth as required under both Canadian and international law.”

    Feds to appeal after court rules Omar Khadr should be transferred to provincial jail

    The Appeal Court has ruled the 27-year-old should be serving a youth sentence in Canada.

    The federal government said it plans to appeal the ruling and it will apply to delay the transfer while it asks the Supreme Court to hear the case.

    • And dangerous, Japan is working hard to change their Constitution so they can send people and weapons to fight alongside their allies who are protecting them. This will give more weight to the pro change side.

      Also most people think Japan could assemble a working nuclear device in a week or less.

        OT: Bibi & his wife had a lovely visit to Japan. The two countries have lots in common. As much state visit as buddy-buddy bonding the wives went shopping, had fun [reportedly].

      • Considering how easily the Japanese won against the Chinese in WWII I worry about them only when idiots like Clinton or Obama are in office.
