1. Two links about a woman who tore up a book at a soccer match and I believe is facing criminal prosecution.

1a. The Daily Mail

Two female football fans ripped up pages from the Koran during a match before throwing them in the air ‘like confetti’ while chanting racist songs about Muslims, a court heard.

Middlesbrough FC supporters Julie Phillips, 50, and Gemma Parkin, 18, have been found guilty of using religiously aggravated threatening or insulting behaviour while watching their team’s away fixture against Birmingham City on December 7 last year.

Magistrates heard that 25 minutes into the second half, Philips pulled a copy of the Muslim holy book from her handbag and started ripping out the pages.

2b. Steward ‘saw soccer fans rip up a koran’

(The charges here, if any, should be littering, or possibly offending everyone else in the world by producing material which threatens to kill or force all people to convert to islam)

3. Camels ‘almost certainly’ the source of deadly SARS-like virus spreading through Middle East

(After reading the above link, please have a look at the video in the post directly under this one)

Camels are being blamed as the source of the deadly MERS virus, a SARS-like condition which is spreading through the Middle East.

Researchers have warned it is not advisable to come into close contact with the animals, especially sick camels, as most are infected with the same strain of the virus as humans.

MERS, which stands for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome has already infected 345 people in Saudi Arabia since it was identified two years ago.

There has been further concern over the spread of the virus as Saudi Arabia has reported more cases over the weekend, taking the reported number of deaths to 100.

4. Afghan parents of teen girl do revenge attack against cleric who routinely ‘harassed’ her

5. Muslim ‘harassed neighbours by dressing up like ‘panto’ Englishman and mocking them about Twin Towers deaths and the killing of Lee Rigby’

Mohamed Dar wore costumes, including a red velvet dinner jacket with a pipe and slippers to taunt his alleged victim, leaving her feeling like she was trapped, ‘living in a prison’.

The 52-year-old of Alfreton in Derbyshire has denied stalking Louise Mountford and Daniel Renshaw at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court.

A trial heard Dar also dressed up in an outfit that made him look naked and a red England hat as he tormented residents in his neighbourhood.

Dar harassed Ms Mountford and allegedly spoke of his joy over the 9/11 attack and the murder of Lee Rigby during pretend phone calls.

6. Cup of SARS anyone?

(This 2011 clip may give some clues to the global medical community as to how this mysterious plague of SARS seems to be expanding and spreading from the great Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)

7. 29-year-old pleads guilty to indecent exposure in Eccleshill swimming pool changing room

Mohammed Rehman was caught committing the offence of outraging public decency in communal showers at Eccleshill Swimming Pool on the afternoon of November 13 last year. The Taliban claims responsibility for the attack, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said.

Panjshir is one of 34 provinces that make up Afghanistan.”

  2. OT but Heads-Up.
Boston is having monster, U.S.-record-setting civil defense drill over the weekend. IEDs, mock school-shooter, the whole 9 yards. Seems like a long, hard weekend for a lot of conscientious folks. Robo-calls telling us not to get scared.
