1. France’s Marianne muse stirs pot with anti-Islam tweet

The leader of feminist activist group Femen, Inna Shevchenko, on Tuesday sparked an online controversy after posting an anti-Islam message to her Twitter account. Shevchenko is one of the inspirations for France’s new official stamp depicting Marianne, the feminine symbol of the French Republic – a fact that makes the accusations of Islamophobia she is currently facing even more inopportune. The “tweet” in question, published on July 9, reads: “What can be more stupid than Ramadan? What can be more uglier then this religion?”

2. There have been a few posts in the past week here at Vlad about speeches by ICLA at various meetings in Europe, especially OCSE. Here is ICLA Chairman Alain Wagner explaining this groups and their functions. There will be more on this shortly as the rest of the videos are edited and uploaded to the YT ICLA Channel. 3. Some very odd and concerning facts about gold today. For example, why is the US saying it till take 7 years to deliver Germany’s reserves to it? 4. 7. Please read this on the debate which took place at Oxford on Islam, its influence and its peacefulness. As I suspected, the latecomers to the debate would have to get rid of all the classical liberals who saw the problem years ago and dismiss the as right wing, racists and crackpots in order to say precisely the same things as we have yet preserve their credentials in the high strata of academe they call home. This isn’t the first example and it won’t be the last.

  1. Sure, we’re familiar with sexual grooming. . .let’s not forget persistent academic grooming: Wirral pupils strengthen community links during Mosque visit
I came across this report as I continue to seek information about the slaying of another British soldier, David Ryding (assaulted at a taxi rank in Rugby within weeks of the beheading of the Royal Fusilier). Doubt over official denials of jihad will not go away so easily.

  2. Thanks for the mention Vlad, and I don’t want to labour the point, (but I can’t help it) but if we hadn’t been so easily seduced into this ‘anything goes’ secularism, then the sexual grooming of our children would have been impossible, in fact if we had stood fast to that which is right, our culture which has sustained us, and made us successful for the last 1500 years, then a lot of the things that are being done to the people of this country today would be impossible. The trouble is that they have done such a good demolition job on Christianity that even those for whom the penny has dropped daren’t mention it for fear of putting off their supporters

  3. 3. Some very odd and concerning facts about gold today. For example, why is the US saying it till take 7 years to deliver Germany’s reserves to it?

Watch Keiser report. The US has been creating money out of thin air (Quantitative Easing), which will naturally increase the price of gold, and thus devalue the dollar. So the Fed has been selling all the gold on the market, to keep it depressed. The US Fed quite simply does not have Germany’s gold ie the physical gold. To get the gold it will have to buy it on the market, and the price of gold will rocket up, thus defeating what it set out to do initially. Thus 7 years, hoping that a global financial meltdown will reset all financial obligations.

Meanwhile the Chinese have been buying up god as of there is no tomorrow.

  4. About the Putin video: it shows that he is a smart man, I remember reading a post in the BJ a few years ago about the three way cultural conflict in the West between traditional Western culture, Islam and the progressives. It seems that Putin has come down on the side of traditional Orthodox culture and hopefully has said no to both political and cultural Marxism and said no to the progressives.

  5. Correction: Meanwhile the Chinese have been buying up gold as if there is no tomorrow.

    4. Putin speaks to the Russian Orthodox Church leaders. WARNING: This may cause cognitive dissonance for those who remember the cold war. (H/T Phil)

I do not know what is implied here. All I see is the social and moral disintegration of the West, that has allowed Islam to take root in the West, and put us in mortal danger.

“Men Have Forgotten God” , Alexander Solzhenitsyn -The Templeon Address

More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.

Russia, along with all East European countries, that have experienced first hand totalitarian government, has seen the danger, and are doing everything to spiritually re-arm peoiples hearst and minds. We OTH in the West are going the other way. From the neo-socialist EU to the now socialist USA, we have been destroying the spiritual fabric of the West.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn: A decline in courage may be the most striking feature that an outside observer notices in the West today. The Western world has lost its civic courage . . . . Such a decline in courage is particularly noticeable among the ruling and intellectual elite, causing an impression of a loss of courage by the entire society.

Even from the grave, Solzhenitsyn skewers the present leftist liberal thinkers.

  6. Phil: You aren’t labouring the point. I would actually like to see an essay on it. With references etc. that I can publish here.

There is no cognitive dissonance. Sometimes a religion is supported or spread because a countries’, empire’s or people’s ruler see it as unifying the country and making it easier to rule.

Although Christianity spread in spite of government repression in the Roman Empire, after the split Byzantine emperors endorsed not only because some or many believed, but because they saw it as a unifying force. They also wanted to prevent schisms so they sponsored and chaired the Christian councils to reconcile various interpretations.

P.S. Armenia was prevented from sending delegates to a council, because they were at war or in rebellion against the Sassanian Persians who had hegemony over them. The Persian king was suppressing Christianity and encouraging fire worship. Persian won, Armenia was subjugated again. Yet it wasn’t worth suppressing Christianity so the Armenians were given freedom to practice it. But since the Armenians were not at the council in Asia Minor (Turkey), they refused to accept its’ results!

The oligarchy that Putin is a member of and is in version 2.0 tried to supplant Christianity. they failed so now they are trying to coopt it. this doesn’t mean that the patriarch is buddy buddies with Putin. they are just using each other.

  8. Thank you Vlad I will attempt to do something for you. I notice that we are getting the old left implanted chestnut that rulers have only used Christianity to exploit the masses,as in turn had the church.
You see, when you control all the means of information- school text books and lessons -T.V.- ‘highbrow’ history programs (which, for some people, by the very fact of watching this form of propaganda, think confers on them some form of great erudition), then you can implant an idea by continued repetition. The left ALWAYS attack what they want to destroy from every conceivable angle, and their favourite tools ? – DISINFORMATION and DENIAL of information, and of course their greatest trick of all – making all of their adherents habitual liars, and (most of) the rest of us resigned to going along with it because the lies come so thick and fast that to challenge them all would leave you arguing all the time about everything, and anyway they brazen out the most blatant, the most preposterous lies without the merest turn of a hair. They remind me of my grandchildren when they were young, they would hide by putting their head behind a chair, with their full body in view, convinced that because their head was behind the chair and they couldn’t see us we couldn’t see them, nothing could convince them otherwise, so we had no choice but to ignore their bodies in full view and hunt the house for them. That’s how we are with these crooks, so convinced that we can’t see their lies – hiding in full view.
Anyway, I digress, ALL available evidence suggests that the early Christian rulers WERE genuine in their conversion – the mere fact throughout the ages, many of them were martyred in the name of Christianity. They ceded a lot of power to the church. Many kings were renowned for their piety: Edward the Confessor, Alfred the Great, Charlemange to name but a few. The cynical relationship between monarch, church, people has only been ascribed to these great ancestors of ours quite recently who project their own standards of mendacity, cynicism and exploitation onto others, – whilst being in total denial of those traits in themselves.
SO, bottom line, just say it was all a con (it wasn’t), a three ringed circus held in place by the monarch, the nobility/monied class and the church- even if that were true the general populous STILL benefitted immensely from that. Human rights, emancipation, a fair justice system that many countries have not had the benefit of in their entire history gradually developed over the last two millennia.Add to that the unrivaled prosperity, the unbelievable scientific innovation (which, despite what the liars say, DIDN’T happen anywhere outside ‘Christendom), and it’s a no brainer.
There was no truer saying, until very recently that ‘to be born an Englishman, no matter how lowly was to have won the lottery of life’. (With due deference to our friends in US, Canada, Australia, NZ, etc, who inherited our culture)

  9. In my opinion Putin wants to be Czar, he wants the power of the Czar and probably wants to found a hereditary dynasty. for this reason he is using the Orthodox Church to strengthen his position. The Church is using Putin to try and regain some of the power and prestige it lost during Communism when many of its Priests openly collaborated with the communists. The western secular leaders would do well to pay attention to his actions and to start doing the same thing, we are entering a time when religion will be used as a weapon against the west if we don’t have a strong religion to use as a shield.

  10. Good vid about Putin and “Holy Russia” as many are referring to that country now. See how smart the Russians are to realize that they have to come together and advertise their inherent Christian faith if they want to defeat islam. After the horror of Beslan they knew they had no choice … be secular and let islam dominate or get Russians to come back and unite under the old form of Christianity. Christianity won. Christianity will also increase their population as abortion is considered a sin by Christians.

  11. I hadn’t thought of the population under Christianity, not only is abortion a sin Christians are suppose to be fruitful and multiply.
