As the twig is bent so grows the tree.
One of the great psychological mysteries is WHY these people would prefer Sharia to democracy. Do they actually want to be miserable?
Note, the report says ‘young Pakistanis’, it doesn’t say how many of them were women. I bet, however that a significant number of them were.
Back to the mystery: I have often wondered why militant Muslims so fervently defend a system that denies them rights. Is it fear of the afterlife, or are they hoping that they would benefit from one of the few advantages that Sharia can give, the ability to enslave and oppress others?
Maybe, it’s the same reason that we have wealthy Leftists, because they somehow think that if a socialist utopia was to occur, they would be amongst the ruling elite. I doubt if any wealthy socialist would ever believe that in a Marxist society they would have all their wealth stripped from them.
So back to the question. Why would anyone want to live under Sharia? Is it ignorance, Stockholm syndrome, or just sheer stupidity?

Bob during the Cold War a lot of defectors to the west returned to the communist nations they left because in the west we had too many decisions to make every day. What will you wear? What will you eat at your meals? What will you watch on TV etc. When you aren’t use to making decisions about your life you feel threatened by having to make decisions. Islam tells them how to live every minute of their lives, they don’t have to make decisions for themselves.
