OH doctor posts $1M bond in pregnant woman’s death

DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) – An Ohio doctor charged with raping and killing a pregnant woman who responded to an online job ad has been released from jail after posting a $1 million bond.

Dr. Ali Salim also had to surrender his passport upon his release Monday and will be on house arrest and must wear a GPS monitoring device until his trial scheduled for early May.

Prosecutors had asked for a $5 million bond, saying Salim, from Pakistan, was a flight risk.

  1. He is a flight risk and he will flee and then have to be tracked down and brought back, assuming the nation he flees to will extradite him.
