If you need this much security for criticising Islam…

Dutch political leader Geert Wilders, now on a speaking tour of Australia, on why he came to fear Islam:

In the Islamic world, I was always struck by two things. I was impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of many people. But there was also their fear. Islamic societies are ruled by terror. Muslims are good people, but they live under the yoke of Islamic sharia. If they leave Islam, or even just mildly criticise it, they sign their own death verdict.

I returned to The Netherlands and became a politician. I used to live in the Kanaleneiland district of Utrecht. During my years there, the district was transformed into a dangerous neighbourhood for non-Muslims. I have been robbed. On several occasions I had to run for safety. The same transformation happened in several cities in The Netherlands and other European countries where Islam settled. Europe is going through an Islamification process, which makes our continent less free and less safe.

Contrary to what many Westerners think, Islam, rather than a religion, is a totalitarian political ideology. It is an ideology because it aims for an Islamic state and wants to impose sharia on all of us. It is totalitarian because it is not voluntary: once you are in, you cannot get out. Unlike genuine religions, Islam also makes demands on non-Muslims. We, too, are marked for death if we criticise it.

For nine years I have been living under constant police protection. I live in a government safe house. I am driven every day to my office in an armoured police car. I have even lived in army barracks and prison cells just to be safe from assassins. I am threatened because I am a a critic of Islam.

Some critics will scoff, knowing that to do so puts them in no danger at all. It will make them seem more tolerant, and enable them to walk down the street in danger of nothing but praise from the like-minded.

“If criticising Islam requires this much protection, there must be something to criticise.”

A statement that sums it all up really doesn’t it? It also takes us back to the irony of Muslims threatening to kill people for criticising the ‘Religion of PEACE’. Ironic, why? Because any religion that uses violence against its critics cannot be peaceful.
Now we all know the Muslim definition of peace but using our definition of peace…. yes, it’s ironic and the contradictions would be obvious even to a five-year old…. but of course the dhimmified Left unfortunately don’t appear to have even the intellectual capabilities of a child.
So Islam is NOT a religion of peace purely because of the dangers it presents to those who discredit it, disobey it, mock it, or attempt to hamper its political aims, whether they be Muslims or non-Muslims.
Why there are still some people who just don’t get this, beats me!

The title is one of the most damaging statements that can be made about Islam, one that provokes thought among those who are still capable of original thought.

Andrew Bolt (the writer of that blog) is a very courageous voice in this increasingly dhimmified and very leftist Australian media. And believe you me, the knives are out for him. Our politicians are – at best – cowards. Not one has accepted the invitation to meet with a democratically elected member of a Western government, and leader of the 3rd biggest political party in Holland. I expected it from our Greens/Left government, but politicians from the conservative side have also gone to ground or mouthed vilifying stuff like: “he is an extreemist…blablabla…but we are country which believes in freedom of speech…so he can come here….but I dont agree with what he says…blablabla + Heil Hitler.

Geer Wilders has just proven ALL his points, when I see the shamefull official attitude towards his speaking tour here:

“…”If you want to know who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.”-Voltaire (he said it in French, of course ;))

Great point Rita. Most of our politicans in the US are just as big of cowards as are yours down under. A most stark contrast with Geert Wilders, who’s bravery and integrity to soldier on despite the numerous death threats and fatwas is exemplary. Despite the insane, cowardly rhetoric of snivelling, ass-kissing leftist politicians,……indeed, because of it, Mr. Wilders, without a doubt, holds the moral high ground.

  5. Dallas says:

Tell a leftist about all the concepts in this article and the response is of disbelief, as if this is breaking news, as if they were born yesterday, and despite their having been apprised of all this many times.

  6. DP111 says:

Its really quite simple. Liberals who believe in freedom and tolerance should ask themselves this very simple question.

“Why is it that even the mildest criticism of Islam or Mohammed, puts the writers life in peril”.

A fatwad VIP automatically gets armed police funded by the tax payers, but you and I are left at the mercy of the beheaders. We are not even allowed to arm ourselves for self-defence. In effect, we are left as sacrifice to the Islamic dragon. Then we claim that we are far more enlightened then the Middle Ages- Bah!
