This really was a big year, and several of my favorites were not even included here, such as 2 potential cures for cancer, the most recent being a modified HIV cell.

    We are living in a time of medical miracles, society is going to be changed by the medical advances that are coming in the next decade or two.

    HIV is a virus not a cell. The virus was basically gutted and engineered to insert genes into cultured white blood cells taken from the leukemia patient. Scientists have been tinkering with this type of therapy for almost 20 years now.
