Afghanistan: At least 20 wounded in Mosque explosion

Explosives? In a Mosque? It can’t be!

Kabul, 3 Aug. (AKI) – At least 20 people were wounded Friday by an explosion in a mosque in Afghanistan’s east, according to China’s Xinhua.

The explosion took place in a mosque in the Chaparhar district of Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province during Friday’s prayers.

“The victims include civilians and the prayer leader of the mosque.” Hazrat Hussein, spokesman of the police said, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, Nangarhar deputy governor, assured that the police forces are looking for the people responsible for such a ” ferocious crime”.

    It would seem so, peaceful places of worship don’t store explosives, but barracks do.
